can the dividers be removed to make 2 sections into 1?

After some gentle exploration, it seems that you could remove 1 main section which contains 2 bins. The unit doesn't seem to be made with an eye toward reconfiguration.

It does not say on the dispenser if it is so I doubt it. I thought that only mattered with liquids in plastic.

Container does not airtight. Could moisture or other elements affect the pills?

We live in a dry climate and have never had a problem and use two of them every day. We love ours.

Does it come with the funnel that is designed to fit the square opening. I saw it on another site.
