Little Women (150th Anniversary Edition): With Foreword and 200 Original Illustrations

Lovely original cover and illustrations with the same sentence structure as the original edition. A beautiful book with easy-to-read large text. Well worth the price for such a beloved classic. I bought this book to read with a very bright nine year old who is in advanced reading. Still, it was very challenging for her. She loved it but she stumbled on the old English vocabulary and sentence structure. We took turns reading and we reviewed the big words and long sentences, some of which were a bit challenging. Still, it was a real pleasure to share this book with her. She especially loved the endearing characters and the life lessons from each chapter which we took time to discuss. A very worth-while read for ages 12+.

I’ve started on a quest to read some “classic” literature. This is lovely. Written so differently than current books. I will say I was grateful for the built in dictionary in the e-book! Definitely a lovely book, reminding all of days where manners, education and family were priorities.

I enjoyed this so much more as an adult than I did when I was required to read it in school. The author shows the love within a family including times of celebration, struggle, sorrow and redemption. Easily relatable when looking back on childhood dreams and then considering how our choices and life experiences influence how things develop and where we end up in the future.

I’ve always loved the movie of little women and have visited Louisa May Alcotts house a few times and knew her history pretty well. When I saw this book I had to have it. It’s a very big book definitely not something you can read in an hour. The cover is really thick too. Definitely will enjoy reading it.

I love this book, and a teen I work with expressed a desire to read it. So I bought her a copy. Since it is a gift, I was disappointed to see a corner had been damaged. It just came in a paper bag, so it’s not too surprising. I wish they packaged books with more care. Still, Im confident the recipient will enjoy it! The old font and pictures are darling.

My father read this book to me and my sisters when we were young, so I never thought it needed to be read again. After an interview I viewed on Amanpour, I ordered this version. It takes about 50 pages to adjust to the "sweet" olde style of writing, then the story takes off, you meet all the girls and just keep reading until the end. It's both delightful and meaningful. The jewel of this version is that includes the original prints or drawings made for the book. It's very pleasant to read a book that has illustrations, most novels don't have them anymore. It's fun to see how the illustrator envisioned the characters and their activities 150 years ago; so different from how I would see the characters is my mind. You'll enjoy every minute of the book. It takes you back to another time a place. Keep the book, so you can read it again!

This a classic that has been read the world over. It’s loved and cherished by many, as I do with my very own copy. It’s a story of sister’s and their journey through life. It is beautifully written with characters that come alive from the written word. I love this author and would highly recommend “Little Men”. The boys in that book are as special as the girls in Little Women.🥰

I bought it for my soon-to-turn-11-years-old great niece. The story still resonates to this day with young girls. It seems everyone can relate to either Jo, Beth, Meg or Amy.

It’s very pretty an quite big! I new i wanted to get a special cover for my copy of little women and this fits the bill! it’s very pretty and the drawings are lovely. It came slightly dented but i don’t mind they are all.
