Handsome, sturdy and very useful. I bought this and the Woodworkers version too
I received more than I expected. Most journals like this are nicelooking but mostly blank or lined pages inside. This journal is full of tips, rules of thumb, common measurements and proportions. And most of the blank pages are in grid paper -which is good if someone is sketching a project and wants to keep it in scale and straight. Other useful info are charts and cross-reference to different tools, the design or profile of carving gouges. I was not sure if I should buy my father-in-law this Woodcarvers version or the Woodworkers version. Since they are so nice, I bought him one for Christmas and saving the other for Father's Day. Men can be very hard to buy for... this is a perfect solution at a very low cost.

Disappointed of the, majority of content, within the book.
Wood Carvers Shop journal.. While the title says what the book should be (?) However in my opinion it falls short of What, I would expect from a "Wood Carvers" Journal. What, information is contained within this book is not that, Great, maybe the writer and designer of the book wanted to cover too many area's subject? May be they, skimmed on the research of the subject, I am in the UK, I practice Traditional English Wood Carving. The, naming of tools and equipment differ, the listing of "Lettering" (Font) no Numbers. Overall the book is too small, the squared graph pages, for design work are poorly printed (faint lines squares) The Mallet in the design on the front cover is not a Carvers mallet. Disappointed over all.
