Rivco Oil Filter Wrench HD021

I have a 2005 Ultra Harley and this tool is God Sent! You might have to angle the wrench to put more pressure on your oil filter cause mine was a dented mess! I drove the bike, warmed it up and went to work. The filter came right off with this wrench! No more cheap black cap oil filter removers that keep breaking in the center for me. The nut remover on the end of the wrench was an extra bonus! Worked like a charm!!! A+

Not for a touring Harley Davidson M8 2019. It will hit the voltage regulator bracket. Limiting the ratios of the turning. You’ll be lucky to turn the wrench 1/4 or 1/2 a inch then it hits the voltage regulator bracket. It fits over the filter but loosening the filter it only turns very little. The handle needs to me modified. It needs to be bent outward so you can actually move it to loose or tighten the filter. Bent like a L so it slides over the filter and then put a crescent wrench on it to rotate the filter to loosen it or tighten it. Then the wrench is worth it. Other than that it’s not worth the time. You’ll be paint scratching the surface of the frame putting this on and off the filter trying to get it loose. You will instantly get the oil filter cap wrench out and be finished in about all the time. Nice product. But no hands on designed after making this wrench. The engineers never tested it on the M8 Harley Davidson touring models before sending it out to the public. It’s almost worth it to purchase a second one just to modify it to really work.

Tested on a 2016 HD Street Glide Special. Will not work with the Hiflofiltro HF171C Chrome Premium Oil Filter This filter is slightly longer and the wrench cannot get between it and the crank position sensor. I had no problems using this wrench on the factory filter. Did not try using the drain plug tool on the other end.

Is what it is. Metal scalloped end wrench that would work fine on a filter installed to normal torque. Dealer or dummy caused this condition ..Used bike I bought had the filter WAY too tight...Ended up using a standard metal strap filter wrench with a short piece of pipe as a breaker bar ...place as close as possible to the filter adapter ..May only move 1/32 at a time . Will seem like no movement at first. but I got it off that way ...

This filter wrench will work great on older models prior to to all of the oil cooler lines and lower fairing w/radiators. Fits H-D filter very well. I don't use filters w/ the nut on the end so I can't speak to the usefulness of the other end of the wrench.
