Guzziology Version 9

A must for aspiring owners.
I've been riding for 45 years and having owned many makes and models , the Moto Guzzi remained elusive. I sought out a guide to buying and owning a Guzzi and this book popped up. I have a strong mechanical background so this book suited my needs to a tee. As far as information goes, it is a little like drinking from a firehose. So sit down with a coffee, do an overall browse then get into the meat of it. Tons of very useful information from someone with extensive practical experience. If you are mechanically challenged then you might find this book a little overwhelming but still lots of info for the average would be buyer.I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to buy any Guzzi, whether it be an old or newer model.

Good read, lots of helpful info, Kindle version more reasonably priced!
I've always balked at the price of this book, theres some very helpful information in it, saves lots of trial and error for sure. That said, for the prices they usually go for they should be hardbound and gilded, not spiral bound construction paper. The kindle version fixes that issue, plus you can search it! As others have noted, not a shop manual per-say, more like musings of an experienced guzzi tech, which can sometimes be more useful than a shop manual.

Great read
I already had a first addition of Guzziology this addition is just as good but with all of the later models.

good book
My husband just bought a Moto Guzzi motorcycle and as a mechanic doing his own maintenance, he reads everything he needs to know how it's done. It's very informative.

This is a classic like Moby Dick. As such, it's not like reviewing some shaver...
Guzziology is like spending a weekend in a cabin in the woods with the guy who knows the most of anyone about the thing you care about the most. It's a never-ending source of wisdom - from experience and savvy. If you want to know about Moto Guzzi motorcycles, you go to the well. This book is the well.

IF YOU OWN A MOTO GUZZI YOU NEED THIS BOOK
My son and I own four Moto Guzzi motorcycles. It is full of "tribal knowledge" about the bikes you will not find anywhere else.

The Guzzi owners Bible.
Guzziology is THE Guzzi book of information. I worked for Dave Richardson in the mid 90's as a mechanic and his knowledge is incredible. He is the definition of Guzzi mentality. This book has every bit of information on all Moto Guzzi's available. Dave, as always, has done a fantastic job.

Essential bed time reading
This tome of a book has been expertly written by one of the foremost experts on Motor Guzzi early V twins. If you have a forty year old classic Guzzi and do your own servicing, then this is essential. It contains a wealth of information. You may think the headline was a bit tongue in cheek, but the way the book is written means it it is not just a service manual but contains anecdotes and so much more.

Not a workshop manual but a great complement to one.
It's basically a giant compilation of snippets, words of wisdom and technical tips for owners of Moto Guzzis. The slightly tricky thing is that if you have a particular problem it's a bit hit and miss whether the book can help. If you have a 1970s bike there will be loads of stuff that will interest you, if you have a 2010s bike there will be much less. This isn't a criticism, it's just inevitable that Richardson has a greater accumulated knowledge of older models and probably that newer ones are more reliable and difficult to improve.

Every Guzziologist needs one . . .
. . . but I worried that it would become oily, sooty, and covered in dirty marks, like all the rest of my workshop manuals. So I bought the Kindle version, which was a whole lot less expensive and can be de-smudged with an alcohol wipe.

Essential reference for any serious Guzzi owner
Essential reference for any serious Guzzi owner especially if your bike is an older model (loop frame, Tonti frame etc). Doesn't pretend to be definitive but is full of very useful details from a very experienced mechanic
