Pentel Fine Tip XFP Fude Pen Battery – Ink Pigmentation

I bought this to sketch when various line widths and it’s a joy to use.

I've been using these pens ever since they came out on the market. They are remarkably smooth,. A slight adjustment of pressure and angle will produce an endless array of results, from thin, arrow-straight lines to bold, thick lines capped off with receding curly-cues . I use them primarily for artwork, although they are also great for filling in black backgrounds of black-and-white photos printed on matte (non-glossy) stock. The extra-fine brush tip is a must. Caps stay on, secure. Most surprising of all, to me, is the significant reduction in the price of this brush pen over the past few years. The cost is roughly half of what it used to be. Better product, lower price ... that equation does it for me. I have searched other online venues, and have yet to find this pen at a better price. First time you do a little practice doodling just to try it out, you'll quickly realize why this brush pen is favored by so many cartoonists, artists and illustrators.

The brush tip is just firm enough to mark a clean straight line and yet with a little pressure one can mark a broard thick line. The ink is fast drying which can be a plus or minus if it's the intention of the user to smudge the ink to create a shadow effect in a drawing. From my experience using it on semi regular basis (not in a professional merely a hobbyist capacity) its good for inking drawings. The only problem thus far is when using it one has to keep the brush moving on the paper to allow the ink to flow consistently if one pauses while say inking a drawing its recommend to gentle squeeze the mid point of the body the brush pen to get it flowing again or put the cap back on and gentle shack in a downward motion. This is a product I would buy again and or purchase in various colors

Yeah yeah I had to squeeze it like almost every single word! Better option is to dip it in the ink (as I did), it worked a lot better that way, no need to squeeze anymore (I feel annoyed by it sometimes). So far so good, the brush is smooth and fine.

Received my Fine Tip brush pen today and so far so good. Definitely going to need some practice to control my hand to finesse the weight of the lines. The brush tip remained nice and juicy throughout my sketch, no need to prime the tip more than once. There is absolutely no comparison between a felt tip pen/fineliner vs this Pentel Brush Pen. Important Note---you must remove the RED RING by unscrewing the pen just under the black brand label before using this pen. (It might be a good idea to hold onto the red ring for traveling purposes (?) You will see the ink advance into the bristles by slowly and gently squeezing the barrel. I did a quick line and wash and I'm happy to say the ink didn't smear when I applied my watercolor paint. You can't beat the price for a brush pen that lays down crisp lines that is also waterproof!

Love it, works as expected

I have a professional artist friend who recommended this brush at a recent exhibition. I promptly forgot his brand recommendation and set out to find my own. The first I came up with fell flat. Only one brush was the size I needed and - when filled- it had a considerable leaking problem. Did I mention that I'm using these for ink? I humbly contacted my friend to remind me of the brand. A few bucks and a couple weeks later, I will never forget his recommendations again.

普通の筆と違って、最後まで筆の先がヘタレない。 入学式の式辞、A4 3枚 2000字程度の原稿を奉書紙に2巻書いたが、最後まで、筆先が鮮明で、美しい文字を書き続けることができた。 筆＋墨よりも手軽で、速乾の顔料インク、乾くまで待たなくても、手を汚すことなく、筆＋墨よりも美文字を書けた。感謝。

Really great and sharp point on the pen. I love the line it gives me.

Excellent brush pen. Doesn't feel quality product, but works well and you get really thin lines and you get also very broad lines, just don't move it too fast when writing or drawing. The locking mecanism (the red ring) that you need to take out every time you start to write, is a bit cumbersome. Otherwise an excellent pen and nice experience.

These pens are great, ink lasts a long time. Lovely fine point on the brush. Ink ins great and looks good on 120gm paper. I've bought another two of these. They do take some time to get here, but they are from Japan.

Ik had voordien nog nooit zo'n penseelstift gebruikt, dus het was een experiment. Het duurt even voordat de inkt in het penseel zit ( eventjes zachtjes duwen op de cartridge voor je hem bevestigt op de pen) . Ik gebruik het om pentekeningen te maken . Zelfs zonder ervaring is het zeer gemakkelijk om mee te werken. Je kan dunne of dikkere lijntjes maken en ook inkleuren. Alleen de prijs is nogal hoog.
