2012 album from the Mexo-Americana band. Knock Knock Get Up is a fiercely original, rhythmically undeniable love letter to the Museum's growing global audience. It's peppered with field recordings and natural sounds from the city of Santiago, Tuxtla in the Mexican state of Veracruz. From deep in sun-drenched southern Mexico where most of the album's songs were conceived, the earliest version of Knock Knock Get Up traveled all the way to the frozen winter landscape of the Great North Sound Society in southern Maine. The album is the band's second made in collaboration with producer Sam Kassirer (Josh Ritter), and was recorded in a month-long marathon at Kassirer's rustic farmhouse studio in January 2012.

It keeps getting better and better
This group has grown and grown up over time. The songs are catchy and thoughtful and well written. Some of the arrangements are truly amazing. I don't tire from listening to it over and over. A wonderful album to pass along and share with others. You have to hear this!

Get on up
This album got the mystery play test with some friends. I threw it on in the background and it only got through three songs before I had people asking me who it was. It passed with flying colors. Highly recommended.

Great album
The David Wax Museum has become one of my favorite bands. Their sound is completely unique - a mix of American, traditional Mexican music, folk and rock. This album shows them really growing as a band and experimenting with some new sounds and ideas.

Americana meets mexicana
Bought this on Q mag 4 star rating. What a find. Think of all those Americana singers/bands you like. Throw in a heaped spoonful of Tex/Mex/Mariachi and a laid back production.Stunning male and female vocals. A great antithesis to all the over produced rubbish that gets churned out today. Give it a go! You will not regret it.
