These have worked well in my kindergarten classroom. Perfect for small group reading instruction! I would definitely buy again.

Irlen Syndrome runs in our family & color overlays are the simple solution to this problem. If your child’s color is in this pack, this product is easy for little hands to hold & maneuver. We use the larger ones—the smaller ones leave too much of the page exposed for the product to work for Irlen. I will say that one child with Irlen finds these helpful & another still finds too much of the page exposed for it to help him. But it’s a good size for my smaller child to use.

I'm a very fast reader, and my eyes scan ahead rapidly. I read in multiple languages, switching back and forth between materials and languages often. Reading in Spanish while conversing in English or vice versa, or reading two books in two different languages, can be difficult BECAUSE I'm a very fast reader. Those scans ahead can get frustrating and even give me headaches if I'm multi-tasking linguistically, so I thought I'd try these.PRO:INSTANT relief while reading the Spanish edition of Dune. Pause to help someone at work in English (my first language) and switch back to the book? NO PROBLEM -- place marked. Problems scanning ahead during longer moments to read? NOT AT ALL. I found myself even more relaxed and immersed in the story, and was thrilled.CONS: I personally have no use for the clear one, and while the yellow is PERFECT the other colors could be difficult to see through. However, I did notice that the darker ones are fantastic for reading outside. I do wish the colors were sold individually.Would I buy again? Pretty certain I will.

I am a Special Education Teacher and I happened across an article about reading fatigue. The color overlays were mentioned as helping many people with this issue. When I researched a little further I found that these are also used with Dyslexia, ADHD, and other reading disabilities. I received them today and I can already tell that they will be wonderful because they helped ME read more fluently. I look forward to finding out which colors the students respond to the most. The article said that this can differ from person to person based upon visual differentiations. I love a good experiment and this kit allows for it!

I bought these for my Daughter to help her with reading. It has been a huge help in letting her focus on the line she is on when reading and helps minimize distraction of other sentences while she reads.
