They work
I bought these after reviewing various alternatives, for a 4 day trip to St Petersburg in February. They just work (to steal another brand's catch phrase). The straps made sure they never came off unintentionally, the fact they do not have studs but metal coils meant I lost no studs, and was able to walk on ice, snow and cleared tarmac with no problem. The only tricky bit was the metro with the shiny floors in St Petersburg but they were so easy to take off, and not too hard to put back on that this was not a major problem. My husband wore them over his trainers to go running in the snow and ice and raved about them too. I even once wore them over a pair of heeled boots and although not as steady, they still helped hugely. Can not recommend them highly enough

Excellent product - a must have for snow and ice
I purchased a pair of these without the strap for a ski holiday. The product is excellent, but one popped off my boots when I was walking in deep snow and I had to retrace my steps to find it. Hence my purchase of the pro with the top strap. I feel safe and sturdy walking in any snow or ice and have ensured that friends and family all have these for getting around in bad weather!

Lots of reassuring grip but limited durability.
I've had three pairs of these Yakktrax and have used other brands of non-slip gripper devices. The Yakktrax give excellent stability, even when running on sheet ice. The coiled springs offer lots of surface area in contact with the snow/ice. This makes for stability in both pitch and yaw. They can be quite tricky to put on as they must be tight to be effective, so take care getting the correct size. I prefer them to the "hardened-point" designs but durability is a problem. The hard spring steel eventually cuts through the rubber strings which hold the springs to the boot or shoe. It's a choice between utility and a sense of safety, or durability.

Snapped on first wear
This item has been disappointing as one of the links snapped on the first wear, which was quite dangerous. These were recommended to me by an experienced hiker, so unsure if it’s just a random defect, but can’t seem to return the item now. No option to return is the issue.

A must have for ice & snow
We used these on a trip to Norway in November - mostly town / city sightseeing with a husky sled trip. The grips were invaluable on icy & snow covered pavements. A bit tricky to put on with cold fingers but once I had the knack it was OK. I would recommend this sort over cheaper ones worn by & complained about by fellow travellers.

Buy these, you won't regret it!
I bought these in anticipation of the snow arriving and sure enough the British weather didn't disappoint. And neither did the Yaktrax. They're quite easy to fit although you do need sufficient hand strength to stretch the rubber over your shoe/boot/welly. I wore them to work over smart shoes and they gave great peace of mind that I could stride out on the snow and ice. I was so impressed that I bough 2 extra pairs one for my wife and one for my daughter. My daughter confessed that initially she thought they were one of "those presents your parents buy" but when she actually tried them out in earnest (an early shift at the local hospital and a walk in freezing conditions) she's now a convert.

I find the Yak Trax product to be the best of all that are available. Easy to install, light and very durable. What with the salt used on the sidewalks today the rubber will eventually breakdown but mine lasted five years before this happened. Although I bought another pair I was able to repair the old ones with some bicycle tire tubing and Shoo Goo. A bit more expensive than some but what are your bones worth?

Per uso leggero sono per me, che ho problemi neuropatici, una manna. E, molto importante, non disturbano nella guida. Attenzione sulle piastrelle a non scivolare.

Trouble free transaction. Grips look OK and have good reviews but we wont get to try out for a month or two.

Works as intended. Feels safer running on snow

It served me well on my walks in the snow. I felt safe walking along with my hiking stocks and the Yaktrax as support , preventing slipping and sliding and a possible fall that as an older person I cannot afford.
