My 9 year old LOVED this book and it's gotten him reading more, he can't wait for the next one to come out, similar to the Dairy books, this is super for the young readers and gets them into books. Rachel Russell is an amazing writer for young readers, MORE please!!!

Very funny per the kids
My 10yr old daughter,11yr old son and 13 yrs old daughter all loved this book. It was originally for my son but he was laughing through it so the girls both read it as well. It took them about 2 days each to read it so pretty easy readread and plus they didnt want to put it down! They can't wait for the 2nd book. My kids also read diary of a wimpy kid, mine craft, and dork diaries series. They said this is similar in that it's not too difficult and funny.

Good for middle schoolers
This book is AWESOME if you're trying to find something for middle schoolers to read who are reluctant readers. My son has never been a huge reader, but he really enjoyed the Wimpy Kid books. This was a great follow-up and we had a great time talking about Max and all of the side characters. This is a great book to discuss topics like bullying, dating, friendship, and life choices. It's also a good book to talk about safety steps and precautions, since (spoilers) Max gets stuck in a locker at one point. Well, at several points, but it's a good story to read with your kids.

and this seemed like a logical progression -- she devoured it
9-year-old daughter is already a Rachel Renee Russell fan, having read every Dork Diaries book she could find, and this seemed like a logical progression -- she devoured it, and can't wait for the next installment!

An amazing book
This book is full of laughs, somewhat relatable situations. I recommend it for ages 10-13. It might help advance your child's vocabulary. (I live in Canada. That's how we spell relatable)

Great Book!!
This book is as funny and as amzing as dork diaries. When Rachel Renée Russel writes books, she makes you feel as if you are the character, which I love, I epecially love when she writes 'Diary' books, Sometimes, you gain a new perspective on things when you read them. I really hope sombody will take her up on a movie deal about her books! Thats how much I love her books, I recommend them to anyone, any age.Parents, if you think her books are innapropriate in any way, I have read every single one of her books, and she is a very clean writer. All her books are clean, no innapropriatness whatsoever, so do not worry whatsoever about your child getting stuff from it.

My son loves this series!
“Absolutely addictive” is how my son describes the Max Crumbly books. He cannot believe that he has to wait for the next book in the series to be written. I’d say that was a win!

The story is very good. It’s very similar to Dork Diaries. It’s good if you like Diary of a Wimpy Kid. If you like Dork Diaries you should so read this.
