Tetra ProVise Professional Gun Care Vise

I have not used any other "vise" before this one that I have recently purchased. I do own an MTM cleaning station and the only problem with that style is that you have to remove all of the bottles from storage to open the slide covers. Now back to the Tetra version.Little over 50-bucks, nice price and arrived quickly, too and in good order. Went right together. I would not clean my AR on this, though. This is the wrong tool/platform for that. For an AR platform, I would use one where you can utilize a magazine block and pivot the upper...using this vise (the tetra) will raise the barrel too high and cause the oil and stuff to run backwards. However, if this does occurs even with other style large fore end rifles, an application of well placed rags will do. You can raise the butt stock and let it sit on the rag, or trap the run off. As for "standard" rifles this is an excellent base. While it is true that if you clean a right handed bolt, you will reach over the top for the cleaning material, I do not see that as bad. If it is a problem for you, move the bottle to the right, just in front of the support, or simply turn the vise around. It does have a convenient indentation for your cleaning rod and the product is made of a quality plastic type material.I have only used it twice since it has arrived and it is sturdy and will become something my kids will have to sell when I'm gone.My only real complaint is that the cleaning products are expensive, but they work, so...My only suggestion is to pay attention to the cam assembly! If this is the first thing you have put together, I can see where you would get it backwards and not get the correct cam rotation along the prime circle. Other than that, it goes together rather intuitively! and I received a second bag o' partsI like it and cant wait to get it really broke in!

Very versatile! My husband loves it!

Many design flaws with the tetra. First, the forend grip is narrow. It does not accommodate larger forend stocks. This causes the axis of the barrel to cant upwards, allowing cleaning solvent to migrate down into the action. Wide forends rest on the top of the opening, further canting the barrel upwards and creating a non-secure grip. Second, the forend support is to close to the receiver. It would better support the rifle if it were moved 3-4" away. Third, the mechanism that secures the butt end of the stock, as well as the wells that hold the jars of cleaning fluid, is on the wrong side for right handed rifles. If one tries to clean a right handed action when secured in the vise, one would have to work over top of the stock to get to the cleaning fluid (check out the picture). Lastly, the stock support, under the stock is to high to allow for any downward cant of the barrel. I plan on taking the saws-all to it and making a few modifications before I put it to use.

Very helpful and useful in caring dor my rifle. I'm not good with my hands but I even enjoyed the process of assembly.

Excellent product. This was bought as birthday present for elderly friend who joined a gun club a year ago. He absolutely loved it! Excellent sturdy quality and beautifully constructed.

Bought for the other half he loves it apparently it makes life a doddle!!

For me the best vise in my life. When rifle is lockt cleaning is so easy. I recomend this product for everyone.
