BEST LED LIGHTS AROUND!
I have purchased many of these lights including the gold and red ones...and have used them to decorate clock faces in my patio and around various objects in my garden. I "LOVE" the phase setting...it gives a very slow pulsating appearance...like a soft dissolve first with the lights on...then off. Not fond of the flashing setting...but you might like it. Also you can leave it in the "on" position for a constant source of light. Love the timer feature...but must admit...lay in a supply of batteries (3 AA required) as they will easily burn out in about 1 1/2 months of continuous use...maybe even less. But the pleasure they provide far outweighs the cost of the batteries. You can use outdoors, too, but I do put the control inside a plastic baggie for protection from the seldom rain we get in CA, just to be safe. Also the wire of this string can be "shaped" around objects so that it "holds tight"...a great advantage over a regular plastic type wired light. I think you will be very happy if you decide to purchase one or multiple sets as I have done.

Worked for what I needed
They are pretty great little lights. I needed something for my small (2 foot tall) Christmas Tree. Pretty much all the normal lights are way too long for a tree that small. So these worked out well. The only downside is they are battery powered and so there is waste there.

Great lights for decorating
These lights are the greatest things for decorating Christmas wreaths or having in your home to decorate small trees, plants, center pieces, I could go on and on. The florist introduced me to them. She decorates centerpeices with them. When I was sick she sent me a Christmas tree, (small) with the lights on it. I just love them and all my friends want them. My son discovered them in my house and keeps coming back for different colors. The battery life last approx. 6 weeks but sometimes longer. They cycle on and off and can last longer.
