Extremely Happy with this Ceiling Pull Up Bar
The best place in my exercise room for a pull up bar was the ceiling, and this bar is absolutely perfect. The room has a 7 ft ceiling and I mounted it on two ceiling joists that were 24 inches apart. The installation template that came with the bar to show where to drill the holes worked perfect. My joists were about 1.5 inches wide and I mounted it 8 inches from the start of an angled wall (would not have worked on the angle wall, had to be the ceiling). I’m 5 ft 10 and was a little worried about my head hitting the ceiling when I did a pull up, but the distance from the ceiling to the bar is perfect (its exactly 16.25 inches from the ceiling to the lowest point on the center of the bar). I thought about mounting a 2X6 board between the two risers and the ceiling like others have done, but it just wasn’t needed in my setup (and with only a 7 foot ceiling I didn’t want the bar any closer to the floor than it had to be) I was also a bit worried about how sturdy it would be but it turned out solid. I’m 180 pounds and there’s no movement or sway at all when I use it. Its anchored into the ceiling tight. I also hung suspension bands from the bar and did a workout just to test the weight limit, and it worked fine … no movement in the bar at all. The multiple different hand positions / grips make this a lot better than the straight pull up bar I grew up with (and the grips on this are very well padded). Installation took a little over an hour because I carefully measured and used a stud finder to ensure I drilled into the middle of the joists. The following tips that others put in their reviews helped a ton: > When you drill the pilot hole with the 5/16 drill bit, make sure the depth of the hole is 3 inches (measured AFTER the bit is installed in the drill) > Don’t tighten the allen wrench bolts all the way until the very last step (it’s easy to finish that last step and attach the bar to the risers, after the risers are mounted to the ceiling) > Use a 17mm (or 11/16) ratchet to attach the risers to the ceiling (I used a 17mm drill attachment) It turned out perfect and I’d definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a ceiling pull up bar.

Secure and versatile
I have been using this bar for about a year and a half now and it has been the central piece of my home workout routine. I love the stability and the different grip options. I also use ab straps and gym rings in conjunction with this bar, and it holds up like a CHAMP. I would read some other reviews who have advice on installation, it's not that hard, but I seem to remember using a slightly smaller drill bit than what was recommended to ensure a more secure hold. I started using this bar when I was around 210 lbs and it has faithfully held up to my current weight at 165. The padding DOES twist on the bar a bit depending on your grip, which didn't really bug me that much, but if you use wrist straps (highly recommend) it's not an issue at all. VERY happy with this bar and I will take it with me when I move and use it wherever I end up. Super solid, great product, gamechanger.

Excellent pullup bar - get help with the installation if you need it!
This is a very nice pull up bar. The configuration with the neutral grip and ergonomic straight grip is perfect! How tricky the installation is depends on your situation. For me it was a bit trickier than I could handle alone so I got some help (which I recommend doing). As others have mentioned, this bar should be installed with great care and the instructions should be followed somewhat meticulously. My ceiling has two layers of drywall and I couldn't accurately locate the joists with a stud finder (the joists fortunately are wood), so we ended up sawing a small chunk out of the ceiling in order to line up the bar over the joists correctly and drill holes that go through the center of the joists. From Home Depot I bought four 3/8" x 5" lag bolts, a very long 5/16" drill bit (about a foot long), a socket wrench and an adapter for the electric drill. I needed the longer lag bots due to the thick drywall layers in our ceiling (the bar comes with 3" lag bots that weren't long enough). The bar is very stable. I'm reassured by the more-than-adequate amount of lag bot that is in my joists!

well made but be sure to measure your joists/trusses -- supports ONLY 16" and 24" OC
This bar is solid and appears to be well made using thick steel. It includes a mounting template to assist with installation. My package arrived missing the two curved washers in the sealed small parts bag. I emailed the clearly listed support address and received a prompt reply and the washers in the mail a few days later. Unfortunately, I'm returning this item but due to no fault of it. My home is newer and done using engineered trusses. I know my roof trusses are 24" OC and assumed my basement trusses were 16" OC just by a quick eyeball. Turns out the floor trusses are more like 18" and not always exact at that (i.e., they are always perfectly parallel to one another, but sometimes it's 18", sometimes it's 19.5"). As others have said, this bar can mount on 16" or 24", but nothing else. So measure for sure before you order, and keep in mind to measure exactly where you want to hang it, as yours may not always be evenly spaced. Also keep in mind you can only mount with the main bar perpendicular to the direction of your joists/trusses.

Very sturdy, ideal geometry
Installed this in my garage which has an exposed beam ceiling. Our joists are heart pine so I used a socket to drive in the hex head screws after drilling the recommended 5/16" pilot holes. This product is very sturdy when installed in this manner. Honestly, it is as sturdy as you could ever hope to get. It is very reassuring to grab the grips and feel how solid the bar is. No power is lost on wobbles, bends, shakes, etc. Far better than a cheap tower or a door frame mounted bar where half your mental and physical energy may be spent trying to prevent equipment failure. it is great to have neutral grips- both neutral and wide grips are right on the money and seem to be the same angles/dimensions/etc. as expensive health club equipment. The padding on the grips also seems to be very high quality and it seems like it should last a good while. My ceiling happens to be at a perfect height for me- I'm 6'. My wife is 5' tall and will need a stool. Just something to keep in mind, you're stuck with whatever your ceiling height might be so you may want to measure before ordering to prevent any surprises.

Quality product. Easy to mount.
Very well made and well designed. Comes with a template for easy drilling pilot holes into your anchor studs. Soft grips on the hand grips are a nice touch. Would definitely recommend.

Very solid product!
Cushioned grips are not slipping on me at all. Rock solid across the board. Was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the negative reviews. This is a great product for the $$. Highly recommend.

The best choice!
I'm 6'2" and 200 lb. I mounted this pull up bar on my 9' garage ceiling. I couldn't be happier with my choice. It is rock solid and gives multiple grip positions. All grip positions are comfortable with optimal diameter of the bar and very nice padding. Easy to install, although I didn't depend entirely on the template, but used a Franklin stud finder for added precision of locating anchor points. I also didn't have a 5/16" drill bit, so I used a 19/64" bit out of my "Easy-Out" kit, so I had to set my drill to reverse rotation to drill the holes. It worked just fine. I looked into other ceiling mounted pull up bars, but they were just straight bars with no padding. I can't say it enough .... this is the one! I know I bought the right one.

Excelente equipo

Great product and supplied as described
I ordered the product knowing I had to install 2 oversized noggins in my garage ceiling [my garage ceiling joists spacing varies across the structure]. On supply, I found that the spacing for the the support bracket lag bolts is 130mm c/l to c/l so noggins were installed to suit. Installation was simple by following the instructions once the noggins were installed. See the photo showing the final installed position [the pencil markings have yet to be removed]. The pullup bar is strong and secure. It is great to use.
