10 sets of outfits for a very reasonable price for an acceptable quality. Colours and design aside, think of the time and resources you'd have to put in to make them yourself.

The thrifty grandmothers answer to America Girl Dolls
The outfits are cute some better constructed than others, but they will do the trick . The clothes seem to fit. My granddaughter seems to play with them even though they are much more budget friendly.
