A rich moisturizer that doesn’t feel heavy!
I bought this because the skin on my face is very reactive and has also been very dry and I wanted to try something that was a little more rich than the moisturizer I was using. I liked that this is for face and body so it comes in a bigger size than typical face moisturizers come in. I have been using it for about a week and have noticed a reduction in flakiness and my sensitive skin does not get irritated by it. It absorbs really well and doesn’t feel heavy or make my skin feel sticky. I definitely feel it is worth the price since you get so much in the bottle and it will last a very long time!

Necessary for Allergic Reactions/Damaged Skin Barrier!
Had an extremely bad allergic reaction to a previous product (Bioderma Intensive Balm) and bought this as an emergency. I have used it twice a day for 3 days and it has helped tremendously. On my face alone, it helped with the severe itching and burning and by next morning, the redness and bumps were calmed by 80%. Mind you, this was used on day 3 of the reaction and I had been using the Avene recovery balm (it works but causes intense itching even when my skin is normal).I bought this to mainly help with the itching and it helps pretty quickly. It didn't burn upon application and I have since moved to using it on my neck and chest (worst area of the reaction) and it seems to be helping where hydrocortisone is not. I will say when I apply it, I use 2 layers because it is a thinner cream. But, when it first dries down, it makes my skin feel slightly tight, but not to uncomfortable. And within an hour or so, my skin is normal and feels moisturized. It's only been 3 days so I'm not sure long term if it will work for me but even if it doesn't, it's great to have on hand for future allergic reactions.I am super sensitive to scented products so I purposefully go for fragrance free. I was worried with some of the reviews but desperately needed something. To me, this smells like canola oil which I am used to from a different brand. It wasn't super intense and I didn't notice it once applied to my entire face (and now neck and chest). To me, it's one of the better fragrance free smelling products.PROS:Thin and easy to spread.Sinks in quickly.Doesn't sting.Helps stop most itching pretty quickly. No strong, funky scent. Once it sinks in, the smell disappears.Relieves/starts to heal allergic reaction symptoms.CONS:Leaves skin slightly tight when applied. Maybe 30 minutes - 1 hour later, skin then feels moisturized.

Working well to improve damaged sensitive area around eyes after cataract surgery
A dermatologist recommended using [a different version] Avene's Cicalfate+ Restorative Protection on my face and hands about a year ago - that seems to improve the overall health/look of my aging face. That Avene product is a permanent part of my skin care now. A few months ago, I had cataract surgery and the skin around my eyes simply never recovered despite using the Cicalfate+ and trying to care for that area. Itching, eyebrow and eyelash loss, an unhealthy texture that wasn't improving. None of the doctors I have asked could recommend anything - sigh. One called in a script that would have cost me out of pocket $500, nope. I did some reading on Avene's other products, and decided to give this XeraCalm AD Lipid Replenishing Cream a try; dang if it isn't working! It's a bit creamier and less concentrated, so I am getting used to the new consistency of this product - I need to use a LOT less of it for just the eye area. In a few days, I do see a noticeable improvement in the texture of the damaged skin around my eyes and lids. No more itchiness. Unsure if it will be a permanent improvement, but I'm pleased with results. In a sea of overpriced mind-boggling skincare products, this brand seems to be effective and safe enough that a dermatologist recommended it.

Works amazing! My eczema is clearing up on my face!
I've been struggling with eczema all of my life and I'm insanely sensitive to all sorts of creams. I've tried just about everything you could find. Colloidal oatmeal ones...to hypo allergenic creams in high end stores. I react to goat's milk and even ones with no fragrance. Well, for the first time ever, I found a cream that seems to be doing the trick. I'm on meds to help with the eczema, but the issue was the eye area, upper forehead [between eyebrows], and right under the nose and around the lips. I'd always get this redness and it didn't matter what creams I used. I recently switched to a Clinique soap [more like a moisturizer that comes out of a bottle] for my face, but it still wasn't getting better. It helped, but the redness wasn't going away!I read online about this cream. I don't use a ton. I put literally a drop under each eye and gently tap it into the area. I also just dab a tiny amount on any other red spot. I'm primarily using this for areas where the redness won't go away. Well, three days after starting this my skin is FINALLY healing around my eyes and in the other zones. My mom even noticed!I can tell you, this is a THICK cream. It's too heavy to slather all over your face. Use it to target areas and use a lighter moisturizer [Aveeno has a sensitive face cream that's new and works]. This cream will help the skin heal [all those annoying patches and redness]. It's worth the money. I suspect it's going to take me ages to finish this bottle off. But, it just is so nice to see my face and not have some sort of weird raccoon look.FYI - I do have some patches on my legs which I glob it on and it's helping that heal too. If you need a good hydrating cream that helps protect the skin and helps it get over that bump where it's irritated, this may work for you. Oh, it has absolutely no scent - none. That was a nice surprise. It's designed for sensitive skin. Initially, I was worried about the cost, but now that my eczema is healing up, it's worth every penny. This worked better than all those steroids and hydrocortisone my docs kept giving me. I was so stressed over the wrinkles under my eyes and for once, it's looking nice. :)

Miracle cream
I have been having crazy acne due to a severe reaction to salicylic acid, among other things. My face was incredibly inflamed, itchy, sensitive, red and painful. My dermatologist started me on an oral antibiotic and a clindamycin/benzoyl peroxide topical. The topical was still drying me out quite a bit so I got this lotion and it's literally a miracle cream. My skin is hydrated, no itchy or stinging and the redness has gone down so much. It's also helping my open sores to heal more quickly. Yes, it's a combination of all 3 products working together but I can definitely see and feel the cream repairing my skin barrier. I will be starting on accutane after a month of antibiotics and will continue to use this balm to keep me from drying up like a prune.

Fantastic
*apply this stuff to damp/wet skin.. it has made all of the difference** Amazing! I get peels and use retinol and this is the only thing that prevents my skin from flaking while living in a literal desert. I have large pores and acne prone skin but have no issues with this. Taking off a star because i dont like the smell

Genial
