Worms very healthy and the compost and food that came with it very easy to use

I had started a wormery recently but I'd been a bit tight on the number of worms I'd initially bought. So I bought this pack to top up the wormery so that it could better cope with our food waste. The worms arrived very lively and were already quite big. The substrate was handy to start off a new layer and the worm food was a great addition.

I am just starting my worm adventure, so decided to order the starter pack. The parcel arrived as expected and all the worms looked healthy and alive despite an unusally warm weather. In my 500g pack of worms I had 690 worms and one egg (divided between two bags), if this is heplful to anyone.Most of the worms look like they didn't reach their maturity yet so it will be interesting to watch them still growing.

I've recently restarted fishing again, joined the local club, and tried a couple of the local venues here in East Anglia, with varying degrees of success. I've had a wormery before, which kept me in worms over a couple of years, before I moved house and released them all into the garden. I ordered this starter kit, with 500g of worms, and it arrived quickly with the worms in good condition.T here's everything you need to get going....if you've already got a wormery to put them in, please remember that little point, or you're going to be scratching your head when the package arrives. There's some basic instructions with the kit, it says to use 3 litres of cold water to revitalise the dried coir block which forms the bedding, I found I needed about an extra pint to fully moisten the lot. It swells up like you won't believe, you'll need a decent sized bucket. I lined my wormery floor with damp cardboard, piled all the coir bedding on top, then opened the pack of live worms to sprinkle onto the bedding. The worms dont like the light, so immediately started burrowing down, and in half an hour there wasn't a worm in sight. I then sprinkled some of the worm food all over the surface, not much, just a few large pinches, then covered it over with more damp cardboard. Put the wormery cover back on, and put it behind my garden shed, where it's out of direct sunlight and in the permanent shade of the bushes along the fence.I've had it a couple of days, added a small amount of banana peel and some used tea leaves, and just left it alone. In a little while I'll start adding small amounts of kitchen waste, remember to add some shredded damp cardboard now an then, and I'm expecting these worms to do heroic work for me down at the carp lake later this summer.

Worms received in excellent condition, coir and feed particularly helpful in getting the worms settled. After two or three days no problem with escapees.

We sadly lost our worms due to heatstroke! This new pack are brilliant, making compost very quickly lovely big healthy chaps. Reccomend 100%
