Would have liked more realistic pictoral input. As a novice (I am taking up microbiology tests for my dog who has protein deficiency) the book has cartoon pictures and whilst it has some reasonable information... it didn't go to the depths I need to go to. Great book for kids though. For me it looked like the sats tests my kids did many years ago. With cartoon drawings.

Excellent book
Does what is says on the cover! Perfect for beginners; this book has a very good intro on safety, types of microscopes and suggestions on what to examine. Every page is a delight, simple instructions, well laid out, interesting with just the right sprinkling of schoolboy jokes. We have made some fascinating slides from basic household ingredients, sugar being the best if it's diamonds you're after.This book should come as standard with every junior microscope.

great book for children. lots of experiments to look at under the microscope. a great beginners book for anyone starting microscope science projects.
