Terrific story of the beginnings one of wrestling's greatest territories
Much has been written about Memphis wrestling over the years, but nearly all take place after 1980. This seems very well researched, I particularly enjoyed the detailed stories of Gulas & Welch. The highlight of the book for me, was the chapter of the much maligned 'high flier', second generation superstar George Gulas. Kudos to the author for spinning a wonderful tribute to his grandmother "Teenie". Well, well worth the cover price.

A Must-Read For Wrestling Fans
This is a great book about a great woman. It covers the beginnings of professional wrestling and moves all the way through to the Vince McMahon, Jr. era. The focus of the book is to celebrate the life of Christine "Teeny" Jarrett -- Jerry Jarrett's mother and Jeff Jarrett's grandmother, who was the driving force in expanding the legendary "Memphis Territory" all the way up to Louisville, KY and Evansville, IN. You get to know what drove Teeny, how she navigated brilliantly through a man's world, some of the inner workings of the wrestling industry, as well as a few stories about "the boys" of wrestling. It's highly entertaining, and you will walk away with new knowledge of the industry, as well as an admiration for a woman that really helped helped to develop professional wrestling into what it is today.

Fun but a novel, as described
This book is just a fun read. I've always heard stories of Teeny but did not know much about her. Brennon, I am sure you enjoyed every minute of writing this book- and it showed. Although you clearly mark it a novel, you lost me a bit in some of the over the top stories- such as the coming together of Welch/Gulas or running into a burning building 3 times. Perhaps they are all true (and I apologize if they are) but it blurred my suspension of disbelief. A fun, breezy and unique read about a wonderful woman and the wrestling business.p.s. I enjoyed Jerry's two books as well. Can you convince him to write about the USWA 1990-1997? :)

Wonderful bio of one of the most important women in wrestling
What a great tribute to Christine Jarrett. I didn’t even know the author was her grandson but it lent a special touch. The book goes into great detail about her life and her career working for Nick Gulas and later her son Jerry Jarrett. Some minor dates and timelines are off in the latter part of the book but it doesn’t hurt the book whatsoever.

Excellent book!
This book really delves into the life of an extraordinary person. I never got to see Memphis wrestling since I lived in the Knoxville area. But I did get to watch some of the wrestlers when they were on Chattanooga TV. They were always fun to watch and very entertaining. Now I know why.

Great read about the history of wrestling before it went mainstream
Even though I'm not a huge wrestling fan, I really enjoyed this book. It's a great read on the history of the Memphis wrestling scene and all the characters involved. I was interested in understanding more about how wrestling as entertainment developed and grew before it became the "spectacle" it is today, and this book did not disappoint. Even if aren't a wrestling fan, you will enjoy following the story of "Teeny" through the years of wrestling's evolution from barn sport to mainstream entertainment.

Interesting history of regional wrestling
I'm not normally a wrestling fan but thus was a great depiction of how the sport grew and evolved after World War Two and through the nineties. Interesting character study too.

Great Book
I have seen Christine Jarretts name in many books i've read, so it's great to get to hear her story! Highly recommended for any old school wrestling fan.
