Momoya Chili Oil with Fried Garlic Taberu Layu 3.88 Oz

delicious garlic forward chili oil - my favorite flavor and the oil itself seems to be of a higher quality than many other brands. It is very mild on the spice scale, which I don't mind, but just be aware if you're looking for a hot oil, this is not it, if you're looking for a rich flavor with a unique garlic crunch from the dehydrated garlic chips, this is it!Caution: many sellers carry this item, all I have bought from have good packaging, no leaks. I did just buy 2 bottles from UNHA'S ASIAN SNACK BOX in June 2026 that arrived only 2 weeks ahead of the 'best by' date so they are pushing old merchandise. It is fine and I will use it, but I don't appreciate this as oil doesn't last forever. Find one that is monitoring best by dates and sending fresh oil and stick with it, (this will be trial and error, or course) don't just take the first vendor Amazon might offer even if it's the lowest price.

The flavor in this chili oil is amazing. I generally prefer it to be spicier. (If this brand sells a spicier version, I’ve not seen it) But, I’ve tried several other brands, and the flavor just didn’t compare. The sesame oil adds a distinct umami that mixes well with the garlic, chili pepper, and other ingredients. To add to that, the garlic stays slightly crispy in the oil. So, I buy it and just add a little sriracha sauce. It ups the spiciness without compromising the flavor.Having said that, I use it without adding sriracha too, it just depends on what I’m using it for. Honestly, I could eat this right out of the jar with only a spoon.

Fantastic quality as always. The garlic is crunchy and the spice level is perfect for me.

The flavor is really good, and its also not spicy. I will have this on repeat. The only reason its not 5 stars is the price. $10 for less then 4oz is kind of high

Torn about this product. I love chili oil and was told chili crunch is similar in flavor to traditional chili oil but it is different in texture due to the crispy garlic. So I had to order it and try it. It tastes STRONGLY of coffee(could be a bad batch)which is probably due to something being over cooked. When you dilute it in a broth, the coffee flavor is not so pronounced. If you put this directly on a dumpling the coffee flavor is almost overwhelming and is not enjoyable. I like the texture, the fried garlic is kind of sticky and chewy, which adds something special to a dish.Chili oil is not hard to make and I will continue to make my own after having tried this. Still a neat experience.

So happy to find this, finally a crispy chilli oil that doesn’t blow your head off, really tasty and fab on the viral steamed soup dumplings. Haven’t used a jar so quickly, only downside is the fluctuating price, I’ve purchased it for £4.99 but often find it much pricier. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this product.

Hace falta una presentación más grande, está muy buena y es el acompañamiento perfecto para unos dumplings. Realmente no pica absolutamente nada y tiene mucho sabor.
