Good for what I wanted
I gave this jacket 4 stars after receiving it and trying it on. I have raised that to 5 stars now based on a lot of use while traveling. It packs down to almost nothing ( standard coffee can, approx), extremely light, but is very warm with absolute feeling of freedom of movement as if wearing nothing. I wore it in wind gusting over 50 mph and found it absolutely windproof, which surprised me. The hood is very warm and also super light. I would wear this down to about 25F, if moderately active. It is not for standing still for a long time at 15F, for example. This is not a substitute for a parka in extreme cold conditions, but is a super useful garment. The sleeves are a little snug, so layering a sweatshirt under it doesn't work well because it makes the arms tight for me. On the other hand with a nylon and fleece vest I was able to use it down to about 10F. I also was able to wear it under a down parka in -20F for added insulation. My intended use: as an easily packable extra insulation layer that can be worn under a shell when needed, rarely alone as is.Basics: I ordered my usual size and it fits well in all respects. Unlike in some of the reviews posted here, there was no odor. The product was fine all respects. The zipper is on the opposite side from what may be the North American male standard, but that's not a big deal. The plus: extremely light weight, like nothing, and very packable. Seems like it will be warm enough for moderately cold conditions especially wiht a shell over it. Hood fits well. Good wind baffle behind the zipper. Construction quality seems fine for normal use, non-expedition type. The sleeves are perhaps a little long, but, for me, snug in the forearm area so that, although they can be pulled down to help keep hands warm, they probably won't fall down.Untested: I haven't really put this to a test in cold weather to evaluate how warm it is. If I had done so, and it tested as I hope, I would give it 5 stars.Be aware: the fabric has a distinct sheen, or gloss, to it. I would prefer it didn't, but its ok.

the jacket fit like an XL though
I ordered this jacket in a size XL I generally wear a size L. When I received the jacket it came with an XXL tag; the jacket fit like an L though! I know it sounds weird and confusing but if you wear a size L in t-shirts or L in jackets and coats place an order for an XL and it will fit like a L even though the coat may come in with a tag saying "XXL."I must say this jacket has a beautiful texture and it is very this, which you should already expect from a down jacket. I will be ordering the grey version of this jacket soon, I am very happy with my purchase.

Nothing to Fear on this jacket
I was hesitant to buy this jacket. Even with 350+ reviews, it was still a bit of a gamble I thought. Down jackets are not all created equal. You can really make a cheap, worthless down jacket by not putting enough down in it, or sewing it wrong. But, since this was $50 and not $300, and since a couple people said they we in 15 and 25 degree weather with this jacket and were warm, I decided to take a chance. I'm happy I did. After letting the jacket "inflate" for a few hours (always do this with a new down jacket if it's been compressed) I took this jacket on a two hour walk in 28/30 degree Fahrenheit weather. I only had a t-shirt on underneath. It was so warm, I had to unzip it for a while!! The only part of my body that got cold was my hands, and that we due to the gloves I had on, not the jacket. It was cold and windy and this jacket was amazing. It isn't as thick as some other more expensive brands, but that doesn't matter. Unless you are climbing Mt. Everest, this is all the warmth you need.Really really happy with the fit and warmth. The zipper is even on the correct side! Some reviews mentioned that zipper was backwards. Not with mine.Give this jacket a chance. Let it inflate for a few hours to get the full size and fluff and then try it out. I hope you'll have the same experience I did. This is better than any "synthetic" down jacket out there, and it will cost you $50, not $300.A++

Nearly as good as the Ghost Whisperer for backpackers!
This is the best possible deal out there for the ultralight backpacker on a budget. I'm truly impressed. It's virtually windproof, light as its feathers, great range of motion, and packs down to the size of a Gatorade bottle. It is shockingly warm, and the built in hood is better than bringing along a stocking cap.It is small. I ordered an XL and it fits just right snug, but fine, on me (I'm 6' 2" and not particularly skinny)The zippers are not YKK or particularly sturdy. Caveat importer;-) and like most packables you'd want to pair it with a frogg togg or other light rainwear if precipitation is in the forecast; but overall this is an amazing value. 85% cheaper than comparable SUL gear. Oh and I checked for the smell issue some had expressed and mine is free of any trace of a smell, so I can only assume whatever that was has been corrected.

Very good down jacket at a great price.
I wore this outside over a long sleeve tee shirt for over an hour at 32 degrees. I have a North Face an there is no difference. I would of given it 5 stars had the zipper been a little larger but, would highly recomend for the price. I'm 5'7" 165 lbs and the large fit just right.

Great Little Travel Packet
Good value for the price--a lot of warmth for little weight-- especially when compared to expensive brand names in retail outlets like Sail. I am especially impressed by the ability to pack it away in a tiny stuff bag for air travel. Zippers could be improved, they tend to catch but can be managed with a little care.

Down fibers cmg out.
The jacket is warm but the problem is that thr down fibers are cmg out from the stitches. And it just sticks to the clothes worn underneath. And thats a bit annoying.

WASTEE
If you have a garbage bag, use that instead. This is the biggest waste of money, small fits like a large. It's extremely light and doesn't even keep you warm. WASTE OF MONEY!!!
