Sauder Trestle 3-Shelf Bookcase, Chalked Chestnut finish

Saw this piece under a different name/seller on overstock and wayfair. It varied from $100-240. I wanted a trestle/ladder style shelf and this one totally fit the bill. It came well packaged and delivered without issue. It is pretty heavy and sturdy for being MDF. Love the jamocha color as it blends will with the rest of my decor. Not much of a 'wood' pattern so it matches anything. What I appreciate most is that the instructions and fit/finish of all the pieces are top notch and I was able to put this together in no time with minimal frustrations. Save yourself some cash and go with Sauder's take on this piece. It has a quality look and feel for a GREAT price.

The wood is very sturdy & it has a smooth natural color texture; neutral that will compliment many decors. I had some anxiety about assembling it myself; because my daughter usually assembles things for me. However, due to the pandemic; she couldn't come by to do it. So I psyched myself up & I was actually able to put it together. I won't say how long it took me, because I'm a little embarrassed. And the only problem I had was with a side panel that took a while to line up and tighten. Otherwise, it was fairly easy to put together. The instructions and diagrams were easy to follow and most of the panels were labelled, which was very helpful. Overall, it's a great looking shelf unit and I'm glad I purchased it!

I love the look of this bookcase and it’s perfect for what I needed to store pool towels and a few books. I’m sure this will be rearranged a few times before I’m happy with it. The instructions were easy to follow even though several boards were not marked. It took me less than an hour to assemble alone, I read the instructions thoroughly during assembly, and my husband came in the last 10-15 minutes to tighten the screws for me. Instructions didn’t show where to put the last 8-10 screws but common sense told me the remaining holes into the shelves. It looks like the photo shown and I love the dark color.

I love this shelf but the words "solid engineered wood" are a bit misleading...it's pressboard with a thick paper covering (any nicks can be easily covered with a black Sharpie marker). That said, I really like it because it's sturdy, heavy, and the ladder design makes it easy to access the bottom shelf. It arrived in about 10 days, was well packed, and was in excellent condition. My husband said it was moderately difficult to assemble and it took him about two hours to get it done. For being pressboard it looks pretty darn good and the price point was decent. The design is great for organizing my sewing supplies and I'm considering purchasing another one.

I've assembled several Sauder pieces and always found them well made, with good instructions, and good sturdiness for MDF furniture.If you haven't assembled furniture of this type, it's not hard. TAKE YOUR TIME, read the directions, make sure you know which piece is which, keep track of your hardware, TAKE YOUR TIME, and have a good cushioned rug or other surface to construct on.I have not had any issues with poor fit of parts with any of the Sauder furniture I've assembled. The pre-fab drilled holes, slots etc. seem to be made with good precision and the end products look good.

A bit confusing to assemble but that meant I was/am more familiar with this 3-tiered shelf (4-tiers for me since I count the TOP shelf as a shelf and use it as such!) ... I *will* buy another one to flank my stereo/audio/visual center - and because I love the design and presence of this shelf unit. :-)

I absolutely love this bookcase! The vintage oak finish is beautiful and even though it's not all wood, it looks and feels like it is. It came superbly packed (Sauder has the best packaging practices ever) and the assembly was swift and ridiculously easy. The piece is heavy - take it right to the room where you mean it to be, so it's already there when ready. I will definitely get other matching vintage oak furniture from Sauder - the quality (or price) can't be beaten!

I have 3 of the five shelf book cases from years ago and went looking for a bit of variety in my study... found the 3 shelf - bought two -and they are perfect for my study. Super, super sturdy - super price - and fairly easy to assemble. Came on time and no blemishes! These are not cheaply made or flimsy. So glad I found them.

Very happy with the quality of this product. I had my 10 year old son help me put it together and it took us just under an hour.

Looks nice and easy to put together. I needed this for my 'office' in my living room. Looks nice and fairly easy to put together.

Perfect as bedside table for a very high bed. Holds a multitude of electronic devices and books and a reading lamp that had overwhelmed my previous bedside table. Took me 2 to 3 hrs to put this together, but am very happy with the functionality and aesthetics of this unit.
