Is anyone having a problem doing the initial prime? This is the 2nd machine that I havn't been able to get the priming suction to work.

You need to turn the knob in prime/clean position first, then turn to low spray or hi spray position to spray, please follow up with the instruction page 7,8,9, and follow the step 4, 5, 6 and 7.

Will it draw pint from a 5 gallon can?

Yes, it can draw paint from 5 gallon can.

How many gallons does it hold?

It doesn't hold paint. Takes it from another container via suction hose.

Can you add extension nozzle that are 7/8 in

Yes, I put a 3ft extension on mine for spraying ceiling
