From unboxing to functional in less than 10 minutes. Relatively quiet. Packaged well.*UPDATE* - after two weeks of great performance the unit started making an awful vibrating noise. A fan or motor has vibrated itself loose and is inaccessible without disassembling the unit. Rotating the unit backwards causes the noise to lessen. I will be returning this unit.**UPDATE 08/19/2019**Decided to risk it and take the unit apart to find the noise. Found some sort of wire bracket loose inside. Removed it and the noise has ceased. Decided to keep the unit because it's a little boss when it works correctly. This Tolys dehumidifier fits the bill. I LOVE that it is quiet and does not take up a lot of space in my utility room. It sounds mostly like a quiet fan running and at the same time, really pulls a lot of water out of the air.It was very well packed, came with the casters already on so I didn't have to put it together. It was easy to set up. I simply plugged it in and pressed one button and it started up. The controls are very intuitive. Low vs. high fan, set the humidity level that you want and you are set to go. I also like that the handles are on the side, so it is easy to move around and the air comes out of the top, so that I can dry clothes on my clothes line right above it. It has a clothes drying setting as well and the air stream is very powerful.
