Wash thoroughly before using.
I have always been someone who washes ziplock bags until they fall apart but because I still hate eventually throwing the plastic out I was excited to try some of these silicone ones. I have some silicone kitchen stuff that I’ve been using for years now so hopefully these will be a lot longer lasting than plastic bags ever could be. I orders the XL bags and they are a lot bigger than expected! They are a good deal larger than regular gallon bags due to holding a full gallon of liquid with extra space on top for expansion in the freezer. Not sure what other reviewers issues were with having trouble with them sticking together or poking holes in them (long/sharp fingernails perhaps?) but I had no problems. The silicone material seems thick and sturdy and the slider bars also seem like they should be durable too. I did quickly discover the slide bars only slide on from one side and will only slide on part way from the wrong side before getting stuck. As with most new silicone, they did come stinking a bit of chemicals. I have learned this odor is a surface residue from the manufacturing process that can/should be washed off and is not part of the material itself. A good scrubbing in HOT soapy water and hanging to dry overnight and they now have no smell at all. Have high hopes for these bags (I plan to use in the freezer).

Strong reusable bags
I bought these bags to store sourdough loaves in the freezer and to help cut down on my plastic waste. They work VERY well for this purpose. They are plenty large enough to hold a standard boule or batard style loaf. The only reason I gave 4 stars on "Easy to clean" is that they're so big they don't fit in my dishwasher and I have to wash by hand (I loathe hand washing things). They are dishwasher safe though. I've found the best way to dry them is to prop a small cup inside the bag on it's edge to keep the flaps open. The durability of these bags is impressive. They feel very hefty and likely won't break unless something extreme is done to them. Definitely recommend these to any trying to cut down on their disposable plastic use. Oh, one more thing I use them for: since they're so large, they can lay over the top of the large mixing bowl I use to mix and ferment my sourdough, so I now use these instead of saran wrap. Less plastic waste! YAY!

Stop single use bags!
I really love these bags and the idea of them. We have been trying to move to reusable containers for just about everything in the kitchen and eliminate plastic. But the small size silicone bags are too small for many leftovers. These are great for leftover roasted meat that might dry out a bit if wrapped in tin foil. These hold moisture in well. The only reason for four stars is that they are a little hard to close. I have used the smaller ones (from a different seller), and those did get easier to close over time. But these are tough to slide the bar all the way across, leaving a gap at the very end. I have found that if I start the slider on the side I'm not supposed to for a couple of inches that it's loosening the groove a bit, so then I take it off and do it the right way. That seems to be helping. But I would still really recommend these bags. They're so much better for the planet.

Really sturdy. Maybe too sturdy
I do think that food keeps well in these bags (I use them mostly for vegetables that I clean in anticipation of using them). But what other reviewers have said is absolutely true. These are really bulky, and the way that they seal would be very difficult for someone who doesn't have strong hands. Since I haven't used them for marinating, I have not really tried liquid in them. I wouldn't buy again. The material will last a long time but they take up a ton of space in my drawers (whether stored or in use). I'd like to see something thinner.

Terrible
Absolutely terrible! They’re difficult to clean/dry. They catch on things in the freezer, making it difficult to get them out without stuff falling. They’re extremely difficult to close and open. In fact, they’re so difficult to open that my boyfriend (who is no wimp) eventually just cut the bag open to get to the contents. And they’re not recyclable, so more landfill waste. I think we’ll just keep reusing plastic zipper bags until they’re worn out and then just recycle them. Much less effort and waste in the end.

Nice big silicone reusable storage bag
I was tired of using plastic ziplock bags to store my homemade dumplings for the freezer. The plastic bags do not last very long and I did not feel comfortable reusing them for long term use. I decided that I needed a bag that was washable, reusable, long-lasting and durable. Found this on amazon and decided to give it a try. The bags arrived in good condition. The bags does have a chemical smell when I opened the bags. It is important to wash the bags before using them. I washed them in a bit of dish detergent and let them air dry. Afterwards, the bags smelled fine. I used two packs of dumpling skins to make dumplings and they all fit in the one gallon bag. I was amazed. These silicone bags are definitely much bigger than the ziplock freezer bags. I haven't tried using the bags for sous vide yet. I gave one bag to my boyfriend so he will test the bag out for sous vide. Overall, I am very happy with these bags. I am confident that the bags will last a long time.

LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT THING 😯
It feels durable. It's easy to clean. I use mine for freezing my roasts and other meats. It holds so much. It's great 👍👍It recommends to use water to help slide the slider on. I did that and put it in the freezer and the slider cracked. Make sure no moisture is under slider when using these bags in the freezer. Not as durable as i thought. Used in freezer 5-10 times and the slider cracked.

Great Way to Reduce Waste
Nice and large accommodates a good amount of food. If it is full, the slider can be a bit difficult to put on. I'd recommend getting a bag stand to hold it upside down to wash in the dishwasher and dry on the counter after wards afterwards (no heat wash and no dry). It is definitely larger than the standard large freezer bag.

good quality
these are nice and thick and feel like they will last a long time. its a bit harder to slide close all the way though their smaller sizes are better at that. we use this to carry our lunch boxes as it is way more compact than a lunch bag, can just throw it in our backpacks and wash it at the end of the day.

Love the large size!
Love the size of this bag. It is perfect for freezing our mass production of dumplings. It is quite big, so may not fit well in a small freezer.

Difficult to open and close
The plastic pieces used to close are difficult to slide on and off-especially off. Overall great size and good quality except for opening.
