Designed and built a bed, these are key
My home made bed can be assembled and disassembled appropriately for moving/storage. They seem very sturdy, but the rest of my bed design distributes the loads so I'm not solely reliant on these for the bed to stay rigid or square. Also had to buy fasteners separately.

These work great but they should have included this info with the description
These work AWESOME... once you figure out how they're supposed to be mounted. I did a test fit with some scrap wood and figured out these things they should have included in the non-existent instructions:1) use #8 wood screws (big thanks to Anon for supplying that tidbit). Length of the screws depends on the thickness of your rails/posts but keep in mind there's no room for glue so the screws will bear the full weight of the frame, mattress, box spring, bedding, people, etc. Don't worry about the hooks failing, they'll be fine assuming you're not going super crazy with the weight. If you're using quality screws (I recommend SPAX #8 wood screws) you won't have a problem with the screws breaking because you'll have four in each piece. DO NOT USE DRYWALL SCREWS, they will break the first time your kid bounces on the bed and you'll be digging broken screws out of your nice, pretty bedposts.2) the female part, the part that goes on the post, has to be totally vertical, otherwise the rail will tilt one way or the other. Once the bed is assembled there's zero play. Use your favorite method of keeping it level (I always clamp the thing in place and then drive the screw)3) the male part, the part with the hooks, gets mounted so that its flush with the rail. What I mean is you won't have any metal showing past the end of the rail when you mount the fastener to the rail. If you have any metal showing you'll end up with a gap between the rail and the post when you assemble the bed frame.4) When installing the male part, either drive the screws in fully (so you know it's situated correctly) and back out the screws a few turns or just leave the screws loose until it's time to assemble the bed. You want to have plenty of wiggle room in the male part because once the screws are fully driven in there won't be a lot of gap between the hooks and the rail.5) Assuming you read #4 and the screws for the male part are loose, assemble the bed frame and THEN tighten the screws on the male part. This will result in a very tight fit with zero gap between the rail and the post.

Nice
These are made very well. Gonna build a bed and needed these to finish it! Great purchase.

Does work for my use case
I built a bunk bed for my kids, wanted it in a way that I can easily disassemble the bed for moving it around. And this just did the trick.Took off one star as it’s not very intuitive to align.

Good brackets
These are the same brackets they Rockler sells. They’re the heavier gauge version. I have ordered several sets and it is hit or miss - I have received lighter, stamped brackets that are much lower quality.
