Though the material is softer, it's not too soft to where it wouldn't protect your glasses. It's really sturdy, and snaps closed pretty aggressively , but your glasses will be secure. It has plenty of room inside to also hold a cleaning cloth as well. The only criticism is the pouch it comes with is really small, and I couldn't fit the case in it, so it's literally just usable to hold your glasses alone, not the case. Overall it's very worth the price.
