Not your Usual PBJ
These sandwiches are works of art. I don't come anywhere near having the ingredients to make any of them. They require a plan and a trip to several specialty shops, which are in short supply around here. If you could create (maybe with a couple of friends) one of these sublime sandwiches a month, I'm sure it would be worth the effort and a great accomplishment. They make my mouth water to read the recipes. I'm planning a trip to New Orleans right now and I know just the place in The French Market to buy the best Fried Shrimp Po'Boy.

Wonderful resultsAl
Already, we have many Cajun, Creole, and NOLA recipes. Emeril has added a twist to some, and he has simplified others to make them possible. His bread recipes are quite good.

GREAT READ, drool and enjoy!!
Although I rarely have all the ingredients, I love his recipes and this book is lots of fun reading, drooling over, etc. Will have to select a few sandwiches and get the ingredients and try the. I used to watch his TV shows and especially waited for the nights when he was on Food Channel.

Not Simple Prep
Gave this book to my son, it reads well, the recipes sound delicious, but are prep/ingredient intensive. He migh use if for ideas, but can't be sure that he'll follow the recipes closely. Might just make him hungry so that he heads out to a sandwich shop.

Taking lunch making up a notch!
This book is the answer to my lunch-making prayers. My husband is a picky eater and, until now, I struggled to prepare lunches that would steer him away from restaurant food and entice him to turn to his lunchbox instead. Problem solved! Every recipe is restaurant worthy and there is a good mix of sinful and healthy lunch ideas. I recently made the Smashed Chickpeas on Naan with Cilantro-Mint Chutney for a luncheon and a friend who is also a professional chef commented that it was likely the best sandwich she had ever had. You will find countless ideas such recipes for empanadas, wraps, salads, brunch ideas, desert treats and detailed explanations on how to prepare perennial favourites such as Po'Boys and Cuban sandwiches with all their fixings. If you need help thinking outside the box when it comes to lunch ideas or any light meal for that matter, this book is for you. Although I enjoy every Emeril Lagasse cookbook that I own, Kicked-Up Sandwiches is quite possibly my all-time favourite.
