Total Health: Choices for a Winning Lifesytle

It's good for a health overview, but I think some of the information is inaccurate. For instance, it says that coconut oil is one of the worst kinds of oils to use; I thought it was one of the best. Also, the chapter on depression seems to misrepresent the condition by using the term "depressed" to describe instances of normal and expected sadness, grief or disappointment. I don't think the author intended to imply that those instances were ones of "clinical depression" but I think the distinction could have been more clear. It's easy to read and contains a lot of information, so overall, it works as a homeschool health curriculum with just little modification and clarification.

My youngest son used this as a read through text for his required health half credit for homeschool high school. He said he found it interesting and he learned things that he didn't know. It is written from a Christian perspective so the context of the study of human body health is in light of the truth that we are created in the image of God. Biblical morality is presented as a positive.I was happy with this text for our needs. Only four stars are given because since mental, spiritual, moral health information and discussions are an area that people have differing opinions, I never can find a book that comfortably fits in every way on this topic. Overall, I think it is a very good text for homeschool and we were happy to find it.
