TechLite Lumen Master High-Intensity Tactical LED Flashlight 3-Pack

I have just recieved these today and out of the box they seem to be of good quality, but i'm going to test them out for awhile before I make my final review. It seems from other reviews I have read that after awhile they seem to give trouble. So until later. It has been five months now since I bought these lights. I use them quite abit and they still work great. The only thing I noticed that if in a pocket or backpak the tail switch is very easy to push on. In my grab an go backpak I just put a thin piece of plastic on top the battery so it will not come on untill need. Over all a really good light that is very bright. {Just thought I'd add a note, it's now Nov. 2011 and these things are still going strong!} This is a new update on these lights, it is now Oct/16 2012 and all 3 still works great. When I first bought mine I read some bad reviews but bought them anyway. I don't know what problem others were having, so if you're thinking of buying one I still think they are worth the money!

This has to be the worst designed flashlight.It produces a very bright light but its battery life totally sucks.I installed a new set of batteries and left the flashlight unused. Two weeks later, I found the low power indicator blinked red and the flashlight wouldn't work anymore.I disassembled the rear cap where the power button sits at the end of the flashlight and found that it has a mini electronic circuit with surface mount components (tiny electronic components without lead wires that are soldered directly on to the circuit board). This is the source of the problem.TWO MAJOR FLAWS of this product that makes it totally useless:1. The flashlight will not turn on when low battery power is detected. It is nice to have a low power indicator but a good flashlight should continue operating until the battery runs out of juice.2. The battery power drains away when the flashlight is not turned on. Who is so stupidly designed the electronic circuit to let this to happen?????????It is totally unacceptable for TechLite to allow these two major flaws to slip to production. In all fairness, they should make a product recall and fix this garbage product or return all our money.While nobody in their right mind would bother to buy this product after reading all the bad reviews, please be aware that Techlite makes other products and there are other LED flashlights with different brand names which look identical to this one.I want to give this product minus 5 stars if posible!!!

I ordered these hoping they'd make good bicycle headlights. They do.EDIT: I've come back to lower the star rating from my original review and add that there's a big problem with relying on these flashlights for bike headlights or any important purpose -- when the battery gets low, these flashlights simply shut off. Then, oddly, they alert you that the battery is low by the on/off button flashing red -- as if you couldn't tell the battery was low because the light stopped working. Many other LED flashlights will switch to a low power mode and still give you hours of lower light when the batteries weaken. These simply shut off. This is not a good safety feature when on a bike, as it's important to be seen at night. Better carry more than one of these, or extra batteries, or, better yet, choose a brand of flashlight that will keep working on lower power even as the batteries fade. Now back to the original review.They feel solid and well made, and they fit nicely in the handlebar flashlight holders you see for sale in various places on the Internet.You could mount two on the handlebars and one in a helmet strap flashlight holder. 100 lumens is very bright, and when you combine three of them, you have a lot of light on the road ahead of you.There's a high, low, and flash setting. The flash feature is nice for biking too, during those times when it's important to be seen. If you want to turn the flashlight off without cycling through the flash mode, just press and hold the on/off button for a full second or so then release it.There's also a low battery alert -- the on/off button flashes red. You can save a lot of money over time by using rechargeable batteries, like Sanyo Eneloop AAA NiMH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries.The beam throw is somewhat wider than a spot, which works out well. As another reviewer pointed out, the beam focusing feature does next to nothing.Overall, for use as bike lights, I think they're a good deal.

Being powered by three AAA batteries made this flashlight appealing to me because AAA batteries are easier to come by. All of my other flashlights use the CR123 battery so I was looking for something to use at work without having to pay a high price for batteries.Upon receiving my package I immediately inserted the provided batteries into all three flashlights. I was surprise to find that each of the flashlights generated a different color beam. Two of the lights were closer to white, while the third was a little on the blue side. The beams do not all focus the same and in two of the flashlights the spot is not clean. These lights are definitely not consistently manufactured. A little disappointing but not a deal breaker.The construction of this flashlight is good but does rattle a tiny bit when you shake the light. The battery insert shakes inside the tube but it is barely noticeable. I currently own Streamlight and Surefire flashlights which cannot be compare to this flashlight but at over 10 times the price of one of these TechLites, this is not an entirely bad buy for an everyday flashlight that you won't feel bad if you drop it or break it.
