Review: Milescraft 1405 Crown45 Crown Molding Jig for Miter Saws - I purchased the Milescraft 1405 Crown45 Crown Molding Jig for my Dewalt sliding compound miter saw and started working with it two days after it arrived. Prior to attempting to use the jig I watched the video on the internet numerous times so I became familiar with the cuts I was going to make. Prior to starting the job I measured the room so I had all the dimensions prior to my first cut. The jig was easy to set up and work with right out of the box. The only word of caution is that when the jig is on the right side of your saw blade, pay careful attention to where the jig is in relation to the blade. My first cut I actually took a small slice out of the jig on the right side because it is difficult to judge the position of the jig and the molding with the saw blade. Other than that minor mishap, the jig did a fantastic job of cutting the proper angles. The jig was very easy to use and the finished product came out magnificent. Any caulking that was necessary was due to uneven walls or ceiling. The cuts made with the jig fit together perfectly.
Review: User Friendly Tool that simplifies mitre cuts - So far so good. I’ve only completed one cut so far. This product is 10,000x better than Kreg’s mitre jig tool. No one wants to do the upside down method, it takes some time to reach yourself this old method. This is a project that does take time and effort to learn the mitre cuts when you do not do it everyday. As Peppa Pig’s Father would say “I am a bit of an expert” and will find a way to win for this project. The only thing I would have liked is the “grey clamp” on the box. Holding the jig, crown and pulling down the saw for precision cuts is not the easiest thing to do. Good luck

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this work with a radial arm saw?**
A: Good Question.....I have both saws...a 10” radial arm and a double bevel compound sliding 12”. I cannot answer your question based on experience but sitting here staring at the pictures and having read the reviews and other questions, I suspect not. Why? Because if it did the manufacturer would be sure to brag about that. Also, it occurs to me that there would probably be clearance issues with the motor on the radial arm saw as well as the right and left cut issue to consider.. A lot depends on the design of the saw. If it were me, I would try to make my own jig at the angle required before I spent any money. I hope this gives you food for thought. BTW...if you don’t have a compound double bevel sliding saw, Harbor Freight sells some really fine saws that will do the job for you. We included the price of the saw in our calculations on our crown molding DIY job and saved a bundle of money versus a contractor.

**Q: if I am installing crown molding over a cabinet and not against the wall how do I use this? there would be no spring angle.**
A: All crown molding will have a spring angle as it is a characteristic of the crown molding itself, whether you are working with cabinets or up to a wall. Your cabinet face will become the vertical "wall" stand-in, and your ceiling will be the horizontal surface creating the 90degree angle. Depending on the crown molding you purchase, it will slant either 38, 45, or 52 degrees in order for the crown to sit flat along the cabinet and the ceiling.

**Q: My first time cutting Crn mldg, what is spring angle?**
A: PDFcrown spring angle - Install Crown Molding Like a Prowww.compoundmiter.com › help › Crow...Open this site and it will answer your question.

**Q: Can this be used with a 12" miter saw?**
A: I have a 12" Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw (Chicago Electric) from Harbor Freight and it worked just fine for all the crown molding we put in the house.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great tool. Two people makes it easier to use.
*by W***E on January 15, 2026*

Was my first time installing crown molding. Very pleased with the results. Have to be careful that the trim is positioned on the saw correctly. Sometimes “jumps” when starting the saw. Would be nice if it could somehow be clamped into place or maybe some rubber feet to hold in place. Used a helper part way through to assist in holding while cutting. As a DIY guy, can’t imagine doing it any other way. Almost all successful first time cuts. Great tool. Wife is happy with the results!
