Works wonderfully!
We recently sold the old, rarely-used truck that took up one half of our 2-car garage and I was able, for the first time in my life, to have a garage stall for my car. I was very excited, as we live in a snow belt state and I've spent many, many hours in the past 10+ years scraped ice and snow off my car in the morning. However, when my SO bought the house as a single man, he didn't care that the garage door opener (installed in 1988) had only one remote. In my excitement to park my car indoors, I took off to our local home improvement store to buy a universal remote that "Works with all major brands!"Needless to say, after an hour of increasingly frustrated attempts at programming, it didn't work with OUR brand. I did some research, and found this remote. It works wonderfully! The instructions were easy and it took me seconds to program. It took longer to open the packaging than it did to program. It works so well, and has such a great range, that my SO is thinking about replacing his with this model (it's also about one eighth the size of the original remote). For the record, we have an Allister opener (no visible model number) that uses an ADX9931 remote.

Great compact remote
This is a great little remote replacement. Well built. A little tricky to program because it uses electronic programming instead of DIP switches like most others. Had to do it a few times before I got it to work. Just follow the instructions step by step

No Automatic Sync Method
Despite being identical in appearance to more modern remotes that can use a sync method to connect to the receiver, this remote expects you to enter a complex nine digit sequence using the three buttons. If your receiver does not have a clearly labeled set of nine switches on the side indicating the +/- inputs for the programming sequence this remote is useless to you as a consumer. At this point I would need a pro to figure out the code to enter.

Works perfectly
Unlike other remotes you dont just open the back and put in your code you have to program it using the 3 buttons. It's not hard to figure out, you basically hold the + AND - button until it blinks, and then you press the button you want to program, and then you put in the code using +, -, and 0.But once program it works like a charm. You can technically program 3 different garage doora but since I have 1 garage door I just programmed all 3 with the same code.

Great compact alternative to bulky old pin switch remotes
Compact and simple to use once programmed. The programming is a little cumbersome, but still only takes about 5 min. You need to be looking at the switch settings on your garage door opener or be lazy like me and take a photo and program off the ladder. I bought this for my father in law and it seems to work great.

A little pricey, but works great!!!
I ordered this personally for a garage door at work. I matched up one of the old switch remotes our company owns with this one and according to Amazon it replaced it. Admittedly programming it was a little irritating (MAKE SURE YOU KEEP AND READ INSTRUCTIONS), however if I can do it anyone can! Once programmed, this thing works great, better than the original. I bought this one because it was the most expensive with the best rating and it did not disappoint. That being said, I believe $30 is a little high, but as I said, the thing works great! Definitely recommended if you need a good quality replacement!

Setup fairly easy, depending on your model.
We recently bought a new home with two Allister remote openers that only opened a single door each. The older remotes were quite large so I bought three of these remotes, based on the product details on this site. When I was setting it up, one of my openers had a one-touch "Learn" button, which was extremely easy to setup. Just push the Learn button and push the button on this remote you want to use. Mine configured after about 3-4 pushes; done. The other opener did not have a Learn button, so I had to remove the back plate, to get to the small window where the DIP switches were visible. I wrote them down, per the instructions with the remote, reassembled the opener, the programmed; easy enough. So now I have one for each car that opens both doors, and I used a command strip to hand the other in the house to open the doors from the inside; no more fumbling with garage door keys in the rain.

Woked as advertised
Worked as advertised with my new MVP receiver and even was able to program for a much older 8DIP switch style Alstar 318 MHz receiver on my other door. Took about 3 minutes to program for both receivers. Gave it a 3 only because well its a garage door remote so a rating of "I Love it" just doesn't seem possible. Now if it was a new craft beer or maybe a Ferrari well then I could see where "I love it" might apply. The key with all these units if you're looking for a replacement or another one to go with an existing receiver is to get one with compatibility to the frequency of the unit you have. They come in several different depending on who made it and as I found out where it was intended for sale. According to some info I read in one of the manuals, the 318 MHz units like my old receiver on the other door were more commonly sold in Canada, ey. Anyway this thing can be programmed for older DIP switch model units too just follow the instructions. The key thing with all these is to match the frequency, some new units have a multi frequency capability with a frequency selector switch, you just need to read the specifications.
