Exact replacement, but not identical to older models
My 28-year-old Wilkins 720-A failed this week. I had to shut off water and drain the the system for another repair and when I turned the water back on, it leaked. Unfortunately, the handle on the input-side valve broke off when I tried to shut it off, and it doesn't make sense to just buy a rebuild kit and a valve. The new Zurn-Wilkins 720-A has identical input and output locations, so it should work as an "exact" replacement for most installations. However, pay attention to the location of the service ports which were re-located from the main body to the input and output valves. The older unit was designed to have the output on the right side only and this new unit comes with the output on the left, but is designed to be changeable between left and right output. If you have to swap it to a right-facing output, be sure to orient the valve handles and the service ports in positions where they are accessible.

Not for use in potable water systems.
Product was well built and solid. Did what it was supposed to. Unfortunately, I found out that even though I was installing the vacuum breaker on my irrigation system, my municipality requires that the device meet low lead requirements for potable water systems since I was tapping into their drinking water system. Ended up replacing with a substantially more expensive "Low-Lead Law Compliant" Wilkins/Zurn 1-760XL. Fortunately I had ordered the 1-720A on Amazon and was able to return in hassle free for a full refund.

Best price available to consumers in Canada.
Solid, heavy, the real deal. It's more economical to buy 1" and then 1" to 3/4" PVC adapters than to buy the 3/4" version of the vacuum breaker. I decided against paying 50% more for a frost-safe model because in either case they both should connected with unions to the sprinkler system, and disconnected and stored indoors during winter.
