The orange insoles Bleed
Not really having a problem with sweaty feet, I was surprised the the orange inserts bleed a whole bunch..if you wear dark socks you may not notice it..lighter colors will definitely be visible. Absolutely no foot support..I did not buy them for boating but have noticed that in about 3 days of walking the little ridges for gripping the surface are gone..so these will probably be good for about only 4 months and time for another brand...Uppers seem to be of OK quality at this price point

Small size
A month ago I`ve ordered these shoes to Russia, previously thougt a lot about my size - I have an original 41 european size, by size chart it fits 8,0 US, so I`ve added a little bit and ordered 8,5. Then it came, I`ve found that they are too small, and now I`ve been forced to order a bigger size, so be careful! Why this always happen with Timberland shoes? The same thing was with my 6inch yellow boots - as a result I must order an inch more than original size, and nowhere even on their site nobody don`t properly convert the size chart.

Timberland disappointment
I have mainly worn Timberland shoes for the last 20 years or so, and always considered them a high quality shoe. I have been noticing degrading quality in their products in recent purchases. The final nail in the coffin is ordering my normal size and getting a shoe that was too small. I checked it against an older pair and it was off at least an 1/2" . The only redeeming aspect of this experience was Amazon's quick response to my return request. Sadly I am moving on from the Timberland brand.

Very disappointing
The photo of this shoe is very misleading. It looks as if it had a true non-slip sole of real rubber for serious gripping on a wet deck. But on direct examination that proves far from true. It slips mercilessly on even dry surfaces, and does not have real razor sliced rubber soles. There are fake surficial imitations of a sliced sole, and the rubberlike color belies its actual material which slips badly on all surfaces. This is a dancing shoe, not for use on boats.

"Go To" Workshoe
My husband has been wearing Timberland Boat Shoes for work for over 15 yrs. It is the only shoe he'll wear for work and he was extremely happy to find it on Amazon since it has been more difficult to find in stores lately. He is a healthcare professional and works at a hospital so he likes them because they're comfortable, breath well and are well made so they hold up and stay looking good. He's tried other brands like Rockport and other boat shoe companies but finds Timberline to be the most comfortable and well constructed. He has narrower feet but they don't gap and stay on well.

Good, comfortable show
EDIT AFTER OWNING SPERRYS:These arent nearly comfortable or durable (or sized properly, or colored correctly) than sperrys. I'd say it's definitely worth the extra $20 or whatever, to upgrade. Sperrys offer a very good value in my opinion. Depending on the batch, the leather wears very nicely too.First impressions: I usually wear an 11.5 in tennis shoes (nike). I ordered 10.5 in this shoe and it's still just a tad too big. But, they are comfortable, and if I wear socks with them in the winter, they fit just right. They look good on the outside, and they cost less money than other brands. The insole is indeed flimsy, and hardly attached to the bottom of the shoe. This allows them to slide around, and judging on your walking habits, curl up and be uncomfortable. After breaking them in: I fixed the insert! I super glued the insert to the bottom, and and it no longer slides or curls. Over time, they have really set into the shoe, and become outrageously comfortable. I love wearing these shoes. The have molded to my foot, they don't smell atrocious, and they breath well. This is my first boat shoe, and I now believe the hype. I wear them to the lake or pool as well, and I haven't noticed any negative side effects of getting them wet.Would I buy them again: I might have bought a lighter color if I could go back, but I do believe these are a great value (AFTER I super glued the insert).Buy small!
