I bought this ladder for my dorm room bunk bed, as advertised it took about one to two weeks for it to ship, but after it shipped it came the next day! Also as advertised it is unfinished as in no stain or polyurethane on it so if you want it to be a different color you have to do it yourself, but you are able to pick whatever color you want.It is sanded down and is very smooth. It fits my bed perfectly(I bought the regular sized one), but to screw in the brackets was a bit of a pain because since there are no per-drilled holes on the upper part of the ladder for the screws. However this does leave some freedom to adjust the fit in case you're bed is just a little taller or shorter than the ladder. I left it unfinished so if I really rough it up it splinters a little, but it was only from putting it in the car(rubbed against the seats) and I think if you finish it, that will probably stop. It doesn't splinter when I step on it normally(so far). There are drilled holes for the steps and instructions on how to do both the brackets and steps. And there are angled slots for where the steps are supposed to go.Also pay attention when you go to screw the steps in because the holes are supposed to line up so if you take a flashlight and look through to see the hole in the step YOU SHOULD SEE ALL OF IT, NOT JUST PART OF THE HOLE! IF YOU DO NOT SEE ALL OF THE HOLE ON EACH SIDE THEN THE STEP IS NOT IN THE RIGHT PLACE! There are no labels for the steps so I had to play around with them to figure out which went where.

My ladder took about 3 weeks for me to receive after I placed my order. I'm surprised at all these reviews that say it only took a couple days to receive their order. I should say I ordered the XL size Loft Ladder for my loft bed, sometimes Amazon will put all the reviews for a product regardless of size into the same review. One of the steps is not perfect, it's an important step, but it is turned inside so that I will not step directly on it. Instead of the wood being a perfect step it appears frayed and looks like a small chunk was pryed off the side. It's not serious, but if I were planning heavy use of this ladder and if the imperfection were any bigger I would be tempted to return it. As it is now, I don't use the ladder much and it's not too big a deal. It does look nice next to the loft bed that I made of unstained cedar. It came with four mounting screws and two black mounting brackets. I drilled holes for the brackets and secured them to the side of my bed. It looks professional enough. I docked one star because it took forever to ship and docked another star for the imperfection on the step.I wanted to add, I'm 5'7" 180 lb male. The steps are a bit small for me. I think I would prefer a bit deeper steps if I could do this over again. I think this is a good ladder for kids because the rungs are a smaller width and depth. If I were a big guy, over 6 feet tall, I think this ladder would definitely be too small but I'm a small(ish) guy so it's ok for me. I wear size 10 shoes (U.S. size) and I wish the ladders were a bit deeper so I didn't have to be so extremely careful coming down the steps. The ladder does feel pretty sturdy and strong now that it's installed.

This ladder is pretty awesome. It smelled really nice for the first week, like my room was transported to a magical pine forest. Also the box served well as both a box and for creating structural support for the paper Slenderman I made as a Halloween decoration. The ladder was a little short but easy to install. I like it. It doesn't take up a lot of room so that's nice, plus I don't feel like I'm going to die or break the ladder every time I use it like the last ladder I purchased.

I needed a ladder for a used bunk bed we were given for our 4 year old boys. This one did the trick perfectly! It came in the time frame described, and it was easy to assemble, and very sturdy.My only suggestion is for those using stain/varnish/polyurethane (etc.) to change the color -- read up on how to do a good job with it! I used a little too much, and it was darker and splotchier than I preferred. Not a big deal (after all, 4-year-olds will be pretty rough on it!), but I would suggest to others to read up on some "how to" tips first!

We have a new horse trailer with living quarters . It has two steps to get into the sleeping area , each step is 18 inches high . . I am short so it was hard for me to get into bed . We only had 12 inches between the fold out couch and the two steps . This junior loft ladder fits into that space perfectly . It is also very sturdy . Looks like it was made for it . We like it a lot .

I am pleased with the product, don't get me wrong, but I should have done my homework before ordering. I needed something tall enough to reach a loft area in my bedroom to store boxes. The ladder fell short of my needs, literally. If I stood on the top rung, I could reach the loft but it didn't feel very safe.This would be great for bunk beds, not for what I wanted to use it for.Great construction, instructions, easy to assemble, arrived on time and undamaged.

The ladder works great...very sturdy and great construction. It fits perfectly for my child's bunk bed. The bed came with a ladder, but I needed a separate ladder to be able to tuck my child in at night and read a book...with my child and not sitting below on the floor. This is perfect.Customer service was fantastic. Very responsive. I am in no way affiliated with this company, just FYI.I highly recommend.

the ladder arrived promptly, it was shipped to my son's frat house and he uses it for getting up to his bunk bed. I purchased the tallest ladder available, but it was about 6 inches short for the bunk bed. It was an easy task to add a couple pieces of 2x4 to the bottom of each leg to extend the ladder to the right length. the materials of construction are very solid. very pleased with the product.
