Gravel Explorer MINI Waterproof Small Travel Toiletry Bag has exceeded my expectation as a compact travel toiletry bag (as a Dopp kit). This is probably a minimalist's dream bag and the design and quality is top of the class. It has a beautiful zipper closure that works very well and the flap/lips that covers the zipper is really cool. The silicone loop that's attached on the one end is handy if there's no good counter space to set it down. The smooth surface with Gravel log side has a shallow room than the other side. So I could put electric tooth brush, brush head and toothpaste, a collection of travel size lotions, etc on the other side. The special polyurethane fabric is definitely waterproof and the smooth texture outside is really nice which reminds me of aged suede or non slippery silicone phone case that I could grip easily. I highly recommend this kit for minimalist person (especially after watching minimalists documentary) and a very picky designer/architect/engineer who might have 'OCD' spectrum personality. It will really satisfy the needs of the clean and well executed product for certain types of people. If I could add, I will get a bright red or orange colored silicone zipper pull that I would make one side compartment to the other easily identifiable. I thought this bag was priced a little high at first. However after using it for my recent trip, I thought the company must have hired a really skilled thoughtful designer to come up with this MINI version of the product and also working with a quality production company. I would say it is definitely a great investment to use for the rest of your lifetime and I'll cherish mine for the frequent camping trips and out of town trips. Don't look further. You have this kit, you will be done with not needing any other dopp kit especially if you travel light with a carry-on luggage only.

Great bag. It keeps all the toiletries organized while you travel. I love that you can hang it, and that the bag for liquids it comes with can be hung independently. This is very convenient when you travel to a place that has limited counter space in the bathroom. I visited a country where I stayed at a friend's place that had a small bathroom with only a pedestal sink, so the hanging features for the toiletries came in handy. I like the separation, for the liquids avoiding spills, and also if you need to take the out of the bag for security screenings it's super easy to do (although this is less common these days). I've been traveling with it for over a year now and the only complain is that it takes a lot of room in the carry on. I still like it, but my previous toiletry bag (that had no organization) fit the same stuff and took less space. Of course, it's then harder to find things in it. I still like the bag. I got it thinking this would be the last toiletry bag I'd ever own, but in reality I'm considering getting a smaller one.

Finally found a travel kit that isn't bulky! My husband has been using this black bag for a few trips now, and it’s holding up incredibly well. The material feels premium and the zippers are smooth (no snagging!). He loves how organized it keeps him. I have to say that I am incredibly happy with the Gravel bag…it is just insanely well thought out. So one of the things I find I don't like about most toiletry bags is that I often have to find some particular "thing" inside them…and that usually means pulling out almost everything else from the bag to get to it. Not so with the Gravel bag. The number…and especially the layout…of the zippered compartments makes it super easy to keep everything together, organized and stowed, yet makes it super easy to get to any particular thing if need be. This is like a travel game changer. I also love the TSA approved liquids bag…sturdy, leak proof, easy to clean, and fits a lotta stuff without getting in the way of all the other stuff in the bag…and the way it fits into its own compartment without compromising space for everything else is really something. The hype about the toothbrush compartment is…well, it's not just hype…it's genuinely great feature. The included strap (the one that allows you to attach the liquids bag to a shower knob) is just awesome. I find that every hotel is different…and I can never seem to get my body wash and shampoo/conditioner setup in the shower without something dropping to the floor at some point. The strap makes it easy to attach the liquids bag to anything and, again, this is like a travel game changer…because when you're in a travel rush, spending even a few minutes wrestling with a toiletry bag is really annoying. I know it's a little pricey, but really worth it in my humble opinion. Think of it like this: you're traveling and you want as few pain points as possible. This travel bag aims to get rid of toiletry pain points.

It’s…okay. There’s slim, and then there’s this. Maybe I carry too many toiletry items, but even for a 2-3 day trip this doesn’t ever fit all of my items and I’m usually forced to prioritize what to bring. I’m also male, so I have a fraction of what a woman may need to bring for the same duration of travel. You may be better off with a slightly bigger toiletry bag. Also, the toothbrush pocket, which is separated and aqua sealed, got a tear in it after only a few uses (no, my toothbrush is not sharp).

I knew that buying a Gravel dopp bag would be expensive, but thankfully it's been incredibly useful for my needs and I don't regret spending the extra money. The waterproof surface and slim form factor have been really useful while commuting to school every day on the bus, and the dopp bag fits nicely in my backpack. I managed to fit a toothbrush, travel-sized toothpaste, some Q-tips and floss, two travel-sized bottles of soap/shampoo, and a small stick of deodorant - pleasantly surprised at how much it was able to hold despite the small size.

Quality of this travel bag is right on. But was too small for my lifestyle needs. Definitely on the pricier side—it would’ve been better if I could’ve inspected the product in person before purchasing, so I had to return the item. Thankful for Amazon’s amazing customer service!

Perfect toiletry bag when travelling light. It carries all my usual bits in a small form factor and the fact it’s basically waterproof eliminates the stress of things bursting in transit in my bag. I like the secondary pocket for separating the toothbrush from the other items although I’m using that for keeping my razor separate after a few nasty cuts from having one loose in a bulk pocket. This now goes everywhere with me when I travel and using hotels.

I watched many reviews about the Gravel Explorer mini prior to purchasing. Looking for a compact toiletry bag, it seemed like the ideal choice. Photos and videos do not do justice to the materials and build quality of the bag. If you are on the fence about either of those, do not hesitate, you will be impressed. The bag feels great in the hand, and I enjoy the waterproof zippers. To date I have not owned a bag with a hanging strap. I don't think I can go back to one without it now that I have. A wet bag on a foreign hotel counter has always rubbed me the wrong way. Hanging this one from a towel rack or similar will be a welcome change. I can fit a compact electric toothbrush (Philips One), deodorant, compact hair product, a small razor, lens cleaner, and moisturizer without straining the zippers. Personally I would never need a larger bag, however if I did I would not think twice about one of Gravel's larger offerings. My wife will be using an Explorer Slim in no time. In addition to the product itself, Gravel's customer service is the best I have ever received from a company. I had some issues with shipping and tight timelines. I voiced my concerns to Gravel about receiving products in time for an upcoming trip. They bent over backwards to do everything they could to get me on my way with the Explorer Mini in hand. To say they exceeded my expectations would be an understatement. This gives me every confidence that Gravel will stand behind their product in the long term. The bag is nice, but the customer service has made me a loyal customer for life. I'll recommend this bag or another Gravel bag to anyone who asks.

On the toothbrush compartment side, it’s folding on the edges which gives it an uneven crunchy look. Looking at youtube reviews it does not seem intended and therefore highly suspect that it is a manufacturing defect. I’ve confirm it by removing everything within its compartments and trying to straighten it out as seen with my video. Would love to receive an quality piece as i think the size is functional for light travel.
