Brinware Slip Resistant Silicone Placemat- Under The Sea, Blue, One Size

Just got these and I'm pretty happy. They are slightly smaller than a silicone mat we have (which my son uses). His is a children's mat by Modern Twist and while that one seems to be a better quality silicone, the price is too steep which is why I ordered these. I got these Brinware ones for my 18 month old daughter and I think they will work just fine. The silicone is more sticky than the modern twist one but that can be a good thing. The sticky surface really does allow the placemat to stick to our wood table which is important if you have a child that wants to lift it up. Her plate and bowl also don't slide around which is helpful for a young child. It will even roll back up and stay rolled bc it sticks to itself (the Modern Twist doesn't do that). Despite the stickiness I find it easy to wipe clean. The print is really cute and I think my daughter will enjoy looking at the animals. They came rolled up in a box which was crushed a bit. I suspect it happened in the mail bc it came in a bubble mailer. It's not an issue for me but if it was a gift I would be disappointed

I purchased these placemats so my toddler would have something fun/educational to look at while waiting for her food. I love the colors, the designs, and the slight stickiness of the silicone which prevents bowls/plates from sliding around too much. However, one thing I was originally disappointed with this product was the flexibility/flimsiness—they do not stand upright at all. Because other reviews say they wash theirs in the dishwasher, I expected they would stand upright, but that's not the case. Washing by hand is a pain because there's no resistance so they end up flopping all over the sink. Then, I had the brilliant idea to wash them in the washing machine with my child's bibs. This was the golden ticket for me and changed my opinion of this product. I simply add the soiled bibs to a normal load of my child's laundry and remove the placemats before switching the rest of the clothes to the dryer. I give them an additional rinse under the faucet and let them air dry. I have done this a few times so far and the white graphics show no signs of peeling off. For some that may seem too tedious, but it's working for me and maybe others will find it helpful too.

We have a similar silicone placemat for our son, but since we just had a second son, we decided to get placemats for both boys. This way, they can select which one they want at mealtime and be entertained! These are light and easy to clean, even if you fold it up until you get home!

I received the Brinware placemat set (2) blue/green with ABC's/123's yesterday. I have to admit I was a bit disappointed at first. They are thin as paper and I was expecting something much thicker. I wanted to be able to pick it up and take it to the sink to dump crumbs etc... These are too thin and flimsy to do that with. However the design is very cute and educational and the colors are very bright! My son came down for breakfast and said "We got new placemats?! They're so cool!" They are a hit with the kiddos so that's a huge plus. I like that I can work with both my 1 and 3yr old on their alphabet and numbers. Hopefully in the future they can make them three to four times as thick. That way it will make clean up easier for moms. Either way I'm happy with my purchase and would buy again. I will be recommending to other moms!

These mats fold up or roll up and still lay flat, a vast improvement over other mats I have tried. But I have only had them a few days and they have already picked up stains from enchilada sauce and marinara. Neither sauce was on the mats long, but they both left ugly orange ghosts on the mats. I like the bright colors and the learning opportunities with the letters and number, but if they pick up stains, they won't stay bright for long. They do stick well to our wood table and to various smooth surfaces I have tried (granite, plastic, etc.); my little one (21m) pulls them up easily, which would be the case with any mat, but they don't slide around on him and things don't slide around on them. They are great in all ways but one--they are going to get ugly fast if they stain this easily.

I was not impressed when I first opened because they are slim, not very big and the pictures are very unreal. However, in a week of the mats being home I have found them very practical because 1) all dishes (even ceramic) stick well to it, and 2) they are easy to clean with a smooth very wet towel/ sponge or under the drain. Minor drawbacks: I wish they were wider (my son's mess easily spreads out) yet for now I am using two side-by-side. Also, many "other" things stick to it - anything grainy or dusty - when you don't necessarily want it to, but again, I wipe it off with a very wet towel as soon as I "can." A plus: Fruits don't stain it (scary-red cherries, for example) at all; that's great! The same might be if pasta sauce; I have not tested it.

We got these when our old cheesy hard plastic ones started letting food and cups slip slide around the mats. These things are awesome! They lay perfectly flat, they're non-slip so no one can play air hockey with their plates and cups and they're super easy to clean. We give them a wipe with a soapy rag or paper towel, rinse under warm water and dry with a little towel. We also hang them over the chair for a spell so they get all the way dry. I understand they're dishwasher safe, haven't tried that yet but one day maybe. Overall, great product. Oh and the boys love the patterns, they spend more time finding things than fighting, so that's awesome!

I bought this for my toddler son to use during mealtime so that he was less likely to send dishes to the floor. It worked excellently. He was also entertained by the designs and pictures, which was a bonus. They are also fantastic to travel with because they roll up so small, are very light weight, and no issue to unroll (meaning they lay flat right away even if rolled up for a long time). We ended up using it for everything when at the table, just to help protect the table, such as playing with playdough, dying eggs, making crafts with glue or anything that might get the table wet. It was a great all around purchase!

Great quality mats. They stick well to our glass covered wood table, clean easily and roll up into very thin rolls without flopping open or requiring an elastic. Perfect for our needs
