Useful and of historical interest, but a bit pricey
As a few others have said, much of the sewing information can be found elsewhere, though I found the presentation of interest, and quite clear. As a bespoke tailor myself, I take issue with some of the contents and find it missing some things that would be quite helpful, and would complete it. I found it of interest primarily as a historical document, and some things were presented more clearly than in other texts I have (I also teach). That said, albeit being nicely printed on heavy paper stock, it's a bit pricey when all is said and done.

This is Book III
If you/your daughter or son gets this far in the sewing books, s/he will be an experienced sewer! (My son was going to be a surgeon, so I started him early on sewing even stitches. Yes, he used it in operations before he died prematurely at 31.)This is a great set. A little expensive, but well worth the money!! I have gotten 3 sets so far, and will be buying more as the girls get old enough to take care of the books. A lifetime investment!

So much to learn!
First, this arrived REALLY fast! Thanks so much!Second, I have SO much to learn about hand stitching! I am just starting to make 18th century clothing for reenacting. These books will be an invaluable asset to the process. The entire 3-book series came highly recommended to me from fellow reenactors, including seamstresses and tailors. They're small books, but more than worth their weight in content.

Foundation to expand your innovation.
More information than I expected. If you use your head this can be a valuable help in basic stitches, as well garment construction.

The Workman's Guide to Tailoring Stitches and Techniques
This little booklet describes techniques and stitches that were taken from other books not what I had thought it would be and was over priced for what it is.
