Attractive, updated take on traditional style light
Nice looking, more modern take on traditional semi-flush mounted lights. Extremely easy to install, since the base is small and light, so easy to hold with a couple of fingers while still using that hand to link wires. Provides plenty of light for our 11 x 12 bedroom, since the light reflects off the ceiling above the glass. If you are directly under the light, you don't see the bronze base where it attaches to the ceiling, and the white frosted glass sort of merges into a white ceiling. Would like to see it retain its edge more so it doesn't "disappear" into the ceiling, but overall looks very nice.

Potential issues, but otherwise was a nice fixture while it lasted.
Normally I wouldn't rate a product like this but I've come back 4 years later in order to report an issue we had. We installed the product as directed and it provided several years of good service, however, we used long life LED bulbs at the time of installation and actually had just gotten to our first replacement time. Everything went fine with the replacement until it came time to screw the finial to secure the shade. Even though all the other nuts were tightened, when I turned the finial, the entire fixture rotated. This effectively shorted out the fixture and when power was applied it blew the breaker. Even taking it apart to try to diagnose it, I was unable to find where the wiring had been shorted, I presume it was somewhere inside the electrical components of the fixture itself. I'm willing to entertain the thought that we installed it incorrectly, but this is a huge potential issue, so please be careful when replacing your light bulbs! Otherwise, it's a handsome fixture and I thought it was high quality up until the incident. It's entirely possible someone with more know-how than us could figure out how to prevent that rotation from happening, but just know that it can indeed happen. I wouldn't go so far as to say not to buy this, I think it would be totally fine as long as you're careful with screwing on the finial. Unfortunately for us, we are shopping for a replacement now.

Nice light fixture for the price.
I agree with the other reviewer that you can't see any of the detail of the fixture, all that you can really see is the bowl, maybe it is where I have it. It is bright enough for our smallish kitchen and looks nice, though. I was a little surprised that you had to put it together. The bolt you see in the picture underneath the part that attaches to the ceiling, and attached to the metal strappings, had to be assembled, but my electrician didn't have a problem with it. There weren't any parts missing and it came securely packaged.

Nice lights
These lights were a good price, shipped fast, and appear to be good quality.I love the look of these lights as they are pictured, from the side view. However, you can only see that view in the home when you are across the room. When you are under the light, they look like any standard light because you can't see the extended bronze base. They give off a nice amber light, not too bright, but light enough to read under.

Not the best
Light looks ok. Nothing fancy. But after a day I noticed four cracks in the glass that were growing as time went by. Glass is thin. Took it down before it fell on someone since it was cracking like crazy. Waste of money.

Great light
This is a nice looking fixture, very simple and it does not call much attention to itself. Once in the ceiling, you do not see the top mounting part, so all you see is the bottom metal piece and the white glass, which provides a nice, even, warm glow. It is low profile, and it is a nice alternative to the hundreds of "boob" lights out there. Price is fair.

looks good. The assembly instructions were lacking
It looks good. The assembly instructions were lacking. For example, on the plate that screws to the electrical box, there were at least 6 holes with threads, and you only use two of those. The instructions were incorrect on which holes to use and you had to measure the distance between the holes on the fixture base, to find the correct holes on the plate that screws to the electrical box. I could go on..
