Good glue without the smell
I've been using good old Weldwood contact cement and getting high. This glue doesn't have the smell, or get you high. It's water base so cleans up easily. And best of all it glues just as well as Weldwood.I've switched.

Once it’s stuck there is no going back.It leaves no room for adjustment!
This cement is easy to apply and very strong. Just follow the directions and the glue will do the rest. Low odor and East cl an up.

Not super healthy to use.
This is supposed to be low VOC and maybe that's the case. But it contains toluene which is hazardous to breathe, causing damage to various organs. So don't let that little certification on the "GREENGUARD" label fool you. This is hazardous material both for humans and for the environment. Also quite expensive at $42 for a quart.

Best Contact Adhesive
I was working on an RV project where I had build panels. These panels were made of framed wood with styrofoam sandwiched between 2 pieces of luan. I done this type of project before and had used 3M 1357 adhesive (which is really great adhesive) to glue the luan to the wood frame and I had use spray can adhesive for for gluing the foam to the plywood. The reason I had to use two adhesive for this project is that the 1357 will melt the foam. The 3M 30 NF Fastbond melt most kinds of foam. I use this adhesive to glue up the pieces because it faster to use one type of adhesive. Another good use of the Fasbond adhesive is for gluing headliner carpet for RV's. I was going to spray the adhesive on the carpet however my compressor was not powerful enough to handle the job. I quickly had use chip brushes to get the adhesive on the carpet. The 3M 30 NF worked great for the application and finish product looked great. It is so much easier to work with the Fastbond than other adhesives. If you buy by the gallon than the price is much cheaper than than the other adhesives.

This stuff, uh... works too well
So my dumb self decided to use this on some furniture linoleum (Forbo) and for some reason I wasn't prepared for it to stick so well and immediately. It barely grazed it and that was it. I ruined part of my desk because it was impossible to remove and I stretched/ripped some of the linoleum in a panic trying to get it off. User error. Wish I had a helper at the time. Anyway very easy to apply and low VOC make this a great product. Just be careful when joining the two parts.

IT DOESN'T STICK
I usually avoid water based contact cement, but I thought I'd try it, and avoid the fumes of solvent based. Mistake! I bought 3M even though it was the most expensive, thinking it would be the best. I'm gluing Tolex to pine for a speaker cabinet. And it just isn't sticking. I applied it thick, I waited for it to be tack-free, I used a brayer to press the Tolex on. I've done this before. It just doesn't stick. The Tolex is hanging loose from the pine.Use your savings from buying solvent based to buy an organic vapor mask. This stuff will only waste your time and money.

Use this with an adhesive roller for a perfect job!
This worked really, really well! I was able to relaminate my 8 ft countertop and a second smaller countertop with some left over I also made backsplashes for both. One thing that helped a lot was to get a Bestt Liebco 588950700 Tru Pro Frieze Nylon Loop Roller Cover. When I did the longer countertop, I used a longer nap roller and it was hard to get an even coat, so product was wasted and it took a long time to set. But for the second one I use the Besktt Liebco Freize Roller and it gave me a nice even coat, really perfect coverage. So I highly recommend this product. You need to follow the instructions carefully. I let it set 90 minutes or more before bonding, longer with the first one because the coat was uneven, too much in spots. This makes it stronger. You have 4 hours to bond it, so that's good in a way, though it does take longer.
