Solar Goes Green SGG-S12 Solar LED Spot Light

The quality of the light fixture construction is far superior to other solar powered spot lights....and seems very solid. The light output is also good. THE problem I had was that it's light quality is NOT "warm white", but "cool white", so, the color of its light output contrasts sharply/harshly with the warm/soft color of the illumination of inside the house...at the front of my home...where I have it spot/up lighting a tree. In fact, now that I have just put up the warm-white LED Christmas lights around the front of the house, the contrast is even more glaring. The Product detail didn't even specify what the color temperature of the light output is even described whether the coloration is "cool white" or "warm white". If this came in "warm white" light, it would have been "5-star +"...but...it's not. So, it depends on what outcome/effect you're looking for. If you want it to harmonize with the warmer lighting quality of most residential homes, then, look elsewhere.

Heavy duty metal casings on light and solar panel, very bright white light, easy set-up, worked all through the first night - just right! BUT, on subsequent days, not full sunshine days, the light failed to operate at all. So, if the weather cooperates with full sunshine to charge the battery, the light system works really well. On cloudy days, not so great. Previous, similar products have charged without full sun, but none lasted all through the night like this one did. I've only had the light for a bit over a week, so not sure about durability or about whether this charging performance will improve with time.

I was very pleased with the light that this product generated for its first month of use. I was hard to believe it was an LED light. Then, all of a sudden, it stopped working. I checked the connections, even popped open the back of solar cell and checked inside the light itself. (Both were accessible, by snapping plastic pieces apart, but neither looked like they expected the consumer to need to do so.) All connections appeared fine. Then I opened the battery compartment (unlike the other areas, this is much more easily accessible. I should started there, but I was certain it was the connection.) Now, I suspect that the rechargeable storage battery is dead, as it, on close inspection, appears to have some corrosion below the positive pole.The idea that I spent this much on a light that was shipped with an old decrepit battery is a little annoying. To be fair, I haven't contacted the manufacturer, yet. (It is always such a pain to do so.) I will get around to it AND if I have a positive experience (or a really negative one) I'll come back and update this review.

Suggest purchasing the wire extension kit, which is sold separately, to allow optimal placement of solar panel . Installed this light in December and it was bright dusk to dawn. The light is a cool blue color. It is used to light a 20+ ft saguaro cactus. The top 5 ft are dimly lit regardless of adjustment, so be cautious if lighting application is more than 20 ft high. Great alternative to installing high voltage system.

DOES not shine as far as it says it does. Disappointed.

Compact and bright just as advertised. Worry about battery replacement instruction or actually lack of. Quality is very good. There is a delay until photocell turns on. Needs METAL stake

Didn't do what I expected it to do.. Gave it away to someone that wanted it. Just didn't like it.

This solar light is better than I expected! It provides all-night illumination ~20' up my wall from a ground location with a very bright white light. I cannot believe these are LEDs. Super easy to install. I would definitely recommend it.
