Salon Quality Hair at Home! Perfect, Shiny & Beautiful Color!
L'Oreal Superior Preference Light Amber Brown is one of the best colors I've used & I normally buy the more expensive, salon equivalent brands but never again! This is the 2nd time I've used L'Oreal Superior Preference color, once when I was dark blonde. I just can't get over how soft & unbelievably shiny my hair looks after using the color, plus my hair seems to have more volume! I'm so thrilled with these results! Previously, I'd chose a professional formula in another brand & my hair was not light copper brown but bright fire engine red! Despite using clarifying shampoo till I was waterlogged, I still had bright red clown hair! Not anymore! I'm so thrilled with the not only the excellent coverage for my few stubborn grays but my hair just looks and feels incredible! L'Oreal Superior Preference Light Amber Brown gave me the beautiful, professional looking color I'd been wanting - a nice light brown with just the perfect amount of copper so it looks like my natural hair color. Finally, I can stop hiding under beanies & ball caps! No wonder stylists warn against box colors! I think my hair definitely looks like I had it done in a salon! Oh! Those stubborn gray hairs? Completely vanished!

Always a pretty color...
I use this product all the time! Stays a nice color for about 3 to 4 weeks. It does fade if you use hard water, but not to an extend its very noticable...just gets a little lighter. I use medium blond ...I get the same. Color each time I use it...Good product.

Pretty color
Works well, color is as described. My hairdresser recommended L'Oreal if going for an at home hairdresser dye.

Review of going darker to lighter8G
This color has a very strong odor when applying to your hair, ventilation is a must while waiting out the 25 minutes. My hair was almost exactly the same shade as the darkest color shown on the box, and I did not expect my hair to actually turn out the shade it says it will on the box, but it did turn out as I realistically expected and I’m overall pleased with it. I had what I would call a light to medium brown color with terrible brassy highlights that were almost a full blown orange from a bad at home color job that I think was probably expired or had gone bad. This did an amazing job evening out that disaster. Now my hair is a much better shade with what appears to be a multi tone color throughout because of the cover up on the bad highlights. The conditioner is excellent, and after rinsing and blow drying my hair, it was very soft. Only lost a star because it didn’t actually turn it as blonde as the box claims it will. Still recommend, especially if you are on a journey to lighten your hair without using bleach. Used 8G

Perfection! Super easy too... 😀
Pics added... in 2 different types of lighting and during application. 😀 Color: (Preference LB02) I've gone to numerous salons in OC California and paid upwards of $400+ to have my thick, long hair colored. (I'm naturally med brown but now with the oh-so-wonderful (not) greys). I was NEVER happy with how I looked when I left the salon which frustrated me considering the money and time spent there. This went on for several years and I just accepted it as having difficult hair or whatever. I would try a new, more expensive salon and would end up with fairly similar results. They weren’t horrible, just not what I was wanting. I ALWAYS had a photo of what I wanted and was clear in my request so, in retrospect, I'm not sure why it was so unachievable for so many years and so many colorists. My colorists tried to explain after the fact why it wasn't exactly like the photo but ... honestly, shouldn't they have known that BEFORE doing it and charging me $400? I just didn't get it... This all changed when I met someone with the exact color I was wanting. She said she used this exact drug-store hair color and described her original color as med brown with grey so I had to try it! I was so nervous but wasn't happy with what I had found in the top salons in SoCal so I tried it... OH MY GOODNESS I was amazed at the results!!! Not only was it closer to the color I had always described and requested but my hair was super soft and healthy following the color process!! I've now been using this color for several years and it's seriously the best thing I've found. I recently went for a trim and blowout at a higher end salon and a woman brought a box of color into the salon and asked if the stylist wouldn't mind using it instead of their usual color... my stylist rolled her eyes and whispered ,"oh my god that's so tacky - that junk will just fry her hair and then we will have to fix it " I looked closer at the box and saw " preference" on it... same as what I use!). Her stylist tried to explain why their (much more expensive) products were so much better... the customer (who, incidentally, was well dressed and carrying a Chanel bag) said she just liked the look and feel of her hair better with the preference... which is EXACTLY how I feel! I have the money to spend on what works best so that's not the issue. It just so happens that this extremely inexpensive color is what's best after years and years of disappointing salon visits... and thousands of dollars wasted in the salon! When I left the salon that day I mentioned that I use the same thing and feel the exact same way as the other customer... I'm sure my stylist was a little embarrassed that she had whispered how tacky of a request it was and her attitude was reflected in my gratuity. I understand that the improved quality of home hair color has most likely had a huge impact on the income potential of hair-colorists so now I understand why they reacted that way the day the woman walked in... but it's also the exact reason I was so afraid to use it in the beginning as well and I wish I had used it years sooner. So... if you're on the fence, try it! Do a patch test underneath to see how it turns out before continuing with the entire head... if you like the look and feel of the test patch then continue with the rest! It honestly couldn't be easier. I use it every few weeks at the roots and bring it to the ends for a color refresh at the end of the processing time while I'm doing my nails and on the computer! I've had several people ask me where I get my hair done and I'm always honest and tell them...

Great at home hair dye to cover your gray hair
I was pretty scared dying my hair on my own for the first time in my life. I used to go to a hairdresser for some highlights maybe couple of times. I’m a natural champagne blonde and highlights look beautiful on me, but that bleach part is damaging. My hair started showing gray and I didn’t want to bleach it or honestly spend $400-500 in a hair salon so I bought a box of L’oreal hair dye! Works wonders! Yes it dries your hair like any hair dye, but if you do some hydrating masks, use oil and good hair products in overall, your hair will look great! Note that if you want to reach a certain color or tone, you’d probably better go to a colorist. This is mostly for DIY cover your grays. I love my medium or dark ash blond colors. It’s pretty similar to my natural hair color but more cold, which I like. I tried my champagne blonde, but it is a bit too warm and prone to turning yellowish.

Intense color, spectacular brightness and perfect coverage
I bought this L'Oréal Paris Superior Preference dye and was delighted with the result. The color is uniform, natural and very bright, exactly as shown on the box. It covers gray hair perfectly and does not leave hair dull or dry. The application is very simple, it does not leak and the aroma is pleasant compared to other dyes. After washing, the hair feels soft, silky and beautifully shiny, thanks to the conditioner it includes. What I liked the most is that the color lasts for several weeks without losing intensity, even with frequent washes. It is undoubtedly an excellent option if you are looking for a professional quality dye to use at home. 💯 I highly recommend it and will buy it again.

Preference by Loreal - Extra Light Natural Blonde LB01
This is actually a Very Beautiful Blonde Shade. It is not too yellow but for me, my orange highlights came out. The blend looked nice, but I did want to stay away from the orange highlights. I didn't want to go to Extra Light Ash Blonde LB01 because in the Cream Excellence line made my hair have a grayish hue. Not bad, but made my hair look dull. I would rather have had the LB02 look than a dull look. I decided to try the LB01 in the Preference line, so I will have to see how that one compares to the Cream Excellence line. If that doesn't work for me, I will either go back to LB02 or go Ash Blonde 9.5 which I know will be darker for my hair, but still blonde and take away the grayish hue because it is darker and same goes for the orange hue in 02. All of Loreal Colors are nice, but due to our own hair and highlights, you won't always get the color you want, so bottom line is you need to experiment and you will likely end up having to trim your hair some due to the ends taking the heat quite literally. I love this color, I just wish my orange highlights would have behaved and didn't. So trying Preference LB01 Extra light ash blonde and see if the grayish hue is less and if not just give in and do 9.5 Ash Blonde in the Preference Line which will be darker, but should resolve my orange issue or too much gray issue because is is darker. I have experimented quite a lot during the pandemic and think I have things figured out. You could always bleach to strip the color and then color, but too me that is too hard on your hair. I have baby fine hair. Preference does have dimension to the color which I really like, the cream excellent didn't have that dimension. So practice makes perfect for you and it sure beats paying a lot at the salon. Cutting and trimming, get yourself a good set of shears and check out videos on You Tube, don't be afraid to try coloring or cutting because that is how you learn and your hair will always grow back. Tip on that, Use the Vitamin Hair, Skin and Nails by either Naturello or Vitafusion. Vitafusion is a gummy, really tasty, not expensive and I have really noticed how great it helps my hair grow and repair itself being baby fine which in itself is tough but these vitamins really nip the right ingredients in them for hair growth. I also noticed my nails growing like crazy, my skin has always been nice, but my hair would never grow and my nails would bend over backwards even using Sally's hard as nails, so try that as well so you can keep your hair healthy as you experiment. You will be glad you did when you save money not going to the salon. Get your own cute little cap, and tools, make it fun and don't worry. This pandemic I have read has been hard on our hair due to stress and many have reported hair falling out. So if your going to loose hair, let it be you experimenting, not this miserable virus.
