Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display - Intel Core i5 Dual Core 2.3GHz, (13-inches, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD) - Silver (Renewed)

The laptop was in great condition and the battery life is decent. I got the package on time (it needed a signature to the Fedex driver). I am so grateful to this seller. I was debating getting a Windows machine or a Mac, and decided to try my hand at a Macbook. I specifically got this one because even if it is from 2017, it's *relatively* spec'ed out and should be able to handle most tasks with ease. This Macbook powers on / wakes up very quickly. Because it has an Intel chip you will hear the fans running when your throw too many tasks at it, but most of the time they don't. The screen is beautiful and enjoyable to look at. It's very snappy and handles everything without breaking a sweat. This model goes up to MacOS Ventura (13.x.x), which is compatible with a lot of things from the App store. The Intel processor has compatibility with just about everything made for MacOS, and in some cases, some stuff that the M-series chips can't run. Certain Apple apps like Pages install but like some version that is compatible with Ventura. Keep in mind that this unit only has 2 type-c ports. This hasn't been an issue for me because I don't need to plug in too many things. The way around having 2 ports is either using Bluetooth accessories and / or using a USB hub. (Also, for a Macbook, 16gb of RAM may be overkill, so don't let it factor too much into your decision vs other Macbooks which have more ports). I use it as a student who uses Visual Studio and does 3d modeling / printing with apps like Blender. Since day 1 with this laptop, I have had zero regrets, and became even happier with my decision. I hope others will have a similar experience, because it's such a good value.

It looked great and worked great for the first 3 months. Two weeks ago, right after the return policy expired I started seeing a flashing question mark inside a folder when I opened up the Macbook. It would take several attempts to restart (boot) the device and the problem just got worse. After erasing and reinstalling the operating system it worked good for about an hour before it shut down displaying the question mark inside a folder. I wasn't able to reboot the device so I took it to the repair shop (the most reputable repair shop in Warsaw, Poland). The guy at the repair shop told me that 2017 Macbook pro computers are notorious for failing hard drives. If you buy a 2017 Macbook pro just be aware of the fact that the hard drive is a ticking time bomb waiting to fail. It will cost me about $300 to get a new hard drive installed. If you buy this model it is safe to assume that the computer you paid $569 is eventually going to need at least another $300 in repairs after you purchase it. He told me that I was lucky. If I had bought a later version or the Macbook with four USB ports instead of two I wouldn't have been able to easily replace the hard drive because it is soldered to the motherboard. Oh well, anytime you buy a used Mac there are inherent risk and there is a reason why there are so many of this particular model being offered on Amazon at such a discount.

Dont buy this very bad performance and battery issue in just 1 year

I received this item several months ago. It’s been pretty good but I did notice that the corners of the screen look as though they have been forcibly smashed, but I guess that’s what you get when you buy something that is refurbished. Some issues I’ve experienced are the bottom heats up really fast and the battery seems to die real fast, within a half hour to an hour of use of just simply using Google. I also notice only one of the two internal fan slots seems to push out air, so that might lead to some issues. Other than that it works pretty good

laptop works fine. In wonderful, like-new condition. the charging cable was bad, not a huge deal and this computer does NOT have an antiglare screen which I'm really quite annoyed by.

I ordered this laptop for surfing the web and doing some light content editing. I was sold on the specs (16gb ram and 256) and price. I thought I ordered 2019 pro but I was looking around on diff sites and such so maybe just an oversight. its a 2017 pro with no touch bar. however I am very much thrilled bc I ordered the “fair/ good” quality in terms of appearance, but to my surprise there is only one noticeable scratch on the back and some fading due to stickers. I am not too concerned as I will be putting a case on it anyways. came partially charged with a new charger. battery life cycle is in the low 300 out of 1000 which is great imo. very easy to use and set up. design is sleek and with little flaws. all keys are functioning and brightness is adjustable and great. shipped and received within 3 days of ordering!

It does take a bit to catch up with operating systems (a few days), but a fantastic overall machine. Coordinated well with all of my apple products. I’m a teacher and it has been a fantastic resource for my limited budget.
