Do you have to buff with a brush to achieve a shine?

If you truly want a good, long-lasting shine, when you've finished: Brush hard with a stiff brush, brush briskly but lightly with a soft brush and finish with a hard scrub with a lint-free cloth. Be sure add a few tiny drops of water when applying the polish, in circular motion with a dry cloth. See YouTube for advice on getting a 'mirror shine'.

Would this work/be suitable on black faux leather?

Do you still have to polish shoes and then apply this or is this an all in one?

This will polish up as a clear polish but I suggest using the shoe colour polish and then using this to get the extra shine. If you bulling shoes to a high shine then use this polish intermittently between layers to stop cracking.
