What is the actual weight limit.. Instructions that came with the swing say it is wrong on the instructions.

I am 140 lbs and can swing with my grandson. I believe the instructions said 150 limit.

The chains 66 inches long per side of swing or both sides 66 inches?

66” long per each side. About 30” covered with the vinyl wrap.

If the chains are too long, can they be cut to the right length? Otherwise, what’s the best thing to do with the extra length? Let them hang?

When you build swing you decide hight which will determine chain length. Chains are pretty thick and I think it would be really hard to cut them.

How much weight can the swing handle?

Not sure how much weight exactly but it handles a grown adult. My wife has used it with my 6 year old daughter with out any problems.

Yes, you should buy these. They are very much worth the money--the chain length is great, it's long enough even if you have a taller playset, and the chains themselves are excellent quality. The coating is wonderful for small little hands, prevents them from getting pinched, and the seats are sturdy and comfortable. It took me a minute to get the clasp things on the set hooks, but that was a me thing--just be patient if it ends up being a you thing, also, because these swings are worth the effort.
