They're wonky as hell. Everything else is OK quality and build wise. Are you thinking "I'm not sure if this will hold up, but I'm interested"? This is pretty much how I was thinking before purchasing this rod. And I have to say, while it can be just a bit tedious to learn the action of the rod for casting, it handles fish amazingly. The rod feels incredibly delicate until you have a fish on the end of it. Then you realize how much it will actually handle. Largest trout I've caught so far on this 1wt is about 20" long at 2.5-3lbs and I caught three of them yesterday. This rod make the smaller fish still fun to play with and it can handle larger fish just fine. listening to the fiberglass creak in your hand when the rod is next to your head and you're reeling is a bit spooky at first but I only noticed the sound the first time I took it out. I have fished this rod fairly hard for two days and just love it to death. It's an absolute blast and by far my new favorite for short casts. If you think you need something to cast a longer distance, you may want to look elsewhere, but these rods really are fantastic, and hey,lifetime warranty if the fish is ever too big haha Highly recommend this rod for people that are considering going a bit lighter to see how it feels. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Really sweet rod, one small problem *by D***D on Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2022* I love this fly rod. I have used it many times and caught lots of great fish with it. The only bummer is one piece fly off when you cast sometimes because it loosens over time, it's probably fixable but really annoying.
