The taste was okay. Like how it was still fresh and crunchy when it arrived.

Thin slices that add flavor and visual interest to Asian dishes like stir fries, these sliced bamboo shoots have a simple, excellent taste. Ingredients consist of nothing but bamboo shoots and water. Nutritional information is 25 calories per 8 ounce can, 5 grams carbohydrate and 2 grams fiber. No sugar, protein, fat or sodium. TO estimate shelf life, the can in my prime pantry box has a Best By date about 26 months in the future, but this will vary. I will definitely purchase again.

I usually have a few cans of this in my pantry. They're great for hot and sour soup and for stir fry. Once they're in a dish they don't carry much flavor of their own, but the texture is very unique to Asian cuisine and adds an extra layer to anything you're serving.

While I admit, it is cheaper at Walmart, sometimes you just can't go out and shop. I'm currently out of work due to a back injury, and PrimePantry has been a godsend. I'm able to get all of the things I need delivered right to my door. (All except for produce, that is. Hopefully AmazonFresh will be in my area soon.) Enough about my situation and shipping though,These bamboo shoots are perfect little strips, and can easily be picked up with chopsticks. They have a perfect texture, and a very mild flavor that picks up sauces very well. I highly recommend them for both stirfry, and soups.

The bamboo shoots were rather decent. However, I believe all food should be organic/pesticide-free, which this certainly isn't.
