Really glad I gave this sprinkler a try
I was honestly a little skeptical about this sprinkler when I ordered it, but I’m really glad I gave it a try. We recently had a new retaining wall put in and planted new bluegrass, so I’ve been watering like crazy trying to get the grass established. Of course, my old sprinkler decided to break right when I needed it the most. What I really like about this one is how much you can adjust it. I can change where the water sprays and concentrate more water on one particular area that needs it, or adjust it for a lighter, wider spray. That has been really useful with the new grass because I’m not wasting water in areas that don’t need as much. It also feels pretty solid, and there really wasn’t anything complicated about setting it up. I just pushed the spike into the ground, hooked up my hose, adjusted the spray, and it was ready to go. Another little bonus was that Amazon delivered it the same day I ordered it, which was perfect since my grass really couldn’t wait several days without being watered. I’ve only had it for a short time, so I can’t speak to how it will hold up long-term yet, but so far I’m really happy with it. It definitely made watering my new bluegrass a lot easier.

Great Sprinklers
Great Sprinklers These Orbit H2O-Six gear-drive sprinklers are excellent. They’re well-built, easy to install, and provide great, consistent coverage. The metal T-sprinkler setup feels much more durable than the typical plastic options, and the spray pattern is easy to adjust. They’ve been working reliably and make watering the yard much easier. Great quality for the price and definitely recommend them.

Really nice and versatile, when they work right, some stop rotating periodically
Orbit H2O-Six Gear-Drive Sprinklers are very versatile with all the different settings and adjustments that they feature. When working right these do good on both a rectangular lawn as well as an irregular shaped lawn with a large tree in the middle of it (see attached review video). The adjustments can be time consuming to get each one fine tuned with the best settings to achieve similar amounts of water coverage everywhere. When installed and set correctly they have nice coverage and are surprisingly enjoyable to watch (see vid). They connect well and stake in sturdy. They're not heavy and seem to be a good design. Installation wasn't hard and I combined 10 of these (2 sets of 5 heads per lawn) with some additional hose ends and two 100 foot hoses for a low cost, above ground sprinkler set up that waters each lawn all at once, all I have to do is turn one on, and then the other, almost like a 2 zone sprinkler system. I am considering adding an orbit 2 zone timer that would automate both so I wouldn't even have to manually turn it on and off. These combined with the custom cut to length hoses and additional ends worked well to run in between all the sprinkler heads to place them where I wanted so they would cover the entire lawn. I used cheap ($10 for 25 pack) can koozies over them when not is use to protect them from damage by the sun and the grass trimmer line (see pic). Depending on how you mow and edge you may be able to get your grass to grow around and kind of hide your hose (see pic). UPDATE - Due to so many issues rotating on a number of the sprinkler heads, I unfortunately haven't been able to just turn them on and leave them alone until it's time to shut them off because sometimes I return to find that one or more have been stuck in one position for awhile. Usually a short, light press on top of the sprinkler head will get it rotating again. If one keeps getting stuck, switching it to a higher flow output setting, like from small to medium on the head works sometimes. After attempting to determine why some of them periodically stop rotating, It seems like the water pressure level, and the number of sprinklers simultaneously connected together in chain, is possibly the determining factor of reliable functionality. Depending on your water pressure, you may only want to daisy chain up to a few heads per "zone". Also to prevent lower water pressure causing them to stop rotating, it's best to try not to have any other heavy water usage while they're running (shower, washing machine, dishwasher)

Loved the 1st, bought a 2nd
I love these things. I bought one originally to see how it worked in my odd sized garden areas and was so pleased I purchased another! They true do have 360 coverage with easy to understand “positioners”, each nozzle setting has additional 3 coverage spray settings (high, mid, low), it has a steady pivot motion and reaches quite a good distance. The metal stake is easy to dig into the ground paired with the two flanking stepping grates. It’s super lightweight, easy to carry and store in a garden bag or just stake near your hose line.

Metal poorly made
Great sprinkler. However, the metal spike that goes into the ground broke in half within a month. Would not buy again!

Forget expensive professional irrigation systems!
I was becoming distraught - the same parts of my lawn died every summer. Then, after aerating/overseeding and reseeding those dead areas in the fall, I was forced to drag around a muddy hose and sprinkler for three weeks. Well no more! I bought four of these things. Three are permanently placed with their own dedicated hose (that is hidden by bushes) placed just off the grass and away from the lawn mowers - and preset to the spraying pattern I need. The fourth is a “floater” that I use on problems areas on the opposite side of the driveway where it wouldn’t make sense to leave a hose. Now, I have a better lawn and saved thousands versus a finicky, fragile professional system that wastes water. I turn in on only when I need it, I can lightly water reseeded areas, and I bring it in during the winter - all for the under $300 for a .6 acre lawn - including hoses and one Y connector. These sprayers are quiet and sturdy. They have six main settings and each has three sub settings. With adjustable horizontal control, I can customize the coverage for any lawn dimension. Ok, they drip a bit (tip: make sure the hose is attached well and the daisy chain cap is tight) but it’s not enough to puddle. I can run three at a time with only a minimal drop in spraying distance. I rarely need to run all four. The only downside: beating myself up for not thinking of this solution sooner! Duh…

Is this the best sprinkler I have ever seen?
Since there is not an instruction manual, the first look on how to setup the sprinkler might be a little over whelming. But if you take a moment you realize you have a very flexible sprinkler in your hands and if you just look at it there are "pictures" on the sprinkler that show you all the different spray patterns that you can choose from. Then if you look at it a little closer you realize that each spray pattern also has a diffuser to spread out the spray. Then there are the settings for how far the sprinkler turns before it reverses direction. There are two adjustment bands and all you have to do is to point the two knobs to where you want to set the stops. Lastly there is a big white arrow that points to the spray pattern you have selected. This also tells you which direction the spray is going to go before it starts rotating. I have only used it twice but it is very quiet, very smooth operation and very precise when selecting exactly where you want it to spray. If it will operate for a long time then I will be very pleased.

Theory makes sense, but practically doesn’t work in a yard trying to grow grass seed
Not really impressed with this item. I looked at a bunch of reviews and videos before buying it so it wasn’t a rush purchase but I find that it tends to “unscrew” itself from the ground over time so if you are watering for 30 minutes and everything is okay and then go look a few minutes later it’s now pointing in the air or has fallen over: it also tends to leak directly beneath the until which helps to loosen it: this was purchased for a completely cleared lot devoid of grass so maybe it will work well in an established yard but not for one where you are trying to grow grass. The top geared part with the little diverters in theory makes sense but in practicality it just causes more water to be dribbling directly into the ground under the until instead of into your yard. It does seem to be mad of quality materials so I like that. Portability is a meh, as to have to continually dig a deep hole into your yard to move it. I shouldn’t have waited so long as my return window had already closed, or ai would have sent it back. Pretty disappointing. I would rather have a sled type that I have to strap and move but is guaranteed to water where I need it than one that is banged into the ground and ends up throwing water where I dont need it.

Great spray options
Bought as a gift for hubby, he loves the many different angle spray options. It's well made & works in any area of garden or lawn. It also works well with bore water and also low pressure. Would buy again.
