not durable
When taking the unit out of the box, I was impressed with the build quality. Very heavy and actual metal, not metal looking plastic. The tubing appears to be high quality silicone tubing. Plenty long enough for most standard height countertops. At first I thought the pump wasn't working. After 30-40 pumps, dawn liquid detergent didn't seem to move in the tube. I then primed the head with water and sucked up as much dawn into the tubing to get it primed. You can do this at the sink because the head of the pump is removable at the top, showing the tube with the nipple attachment (teflon tape around once per instructions). After the head gets primed with the soap, it works fine and squirts out easily time after time. The amount that comes out with each pump is generous.I do note that there are a lot of 1 star reviews for this product, most saying it dies after a few months. I hope not and will update this review should that happen. But initial quality is good, but it takes some doing to get it primed.update: would not pump after just a few months. all the soap drains back into the bottle and there is no sucking action. I contacted seller who responded promptly and sent me a new pump mechanism. Excellent customer service.

Nice Quality, Looks Good BUT A YEAR LATER FELL APART
First impression: Heavy and good looking. Even the tubing is heavy duty. They have included all you need for installation. All parts included (except the soap). Installation? No complaints with the product, even the threading, washers and nut are of good quality. It is just getting to the under part of the sink. HINT: if doing this install yourself, you must lay on your back and get up and inside your sink cabinet (see photos). Make it easier and put down an ironing board (closed up) and place it in the cabinet and then lay on it to do the work. Finally, the finished product looks great and has worked easily for three weeks now. I don't expect any issues. Thanks, CREVISED UPDATED REVIEW:Just over a year after installation, the "spout" fell off the pump and soap only flows directly to the counter. I have tried to contact the company twice: asking to purchase the parts necessary and have had no response. Disappointing, but compared to world events, this bad choice only cost me $50. Good idea, but ultimately poor design and lack of customer service., Sorry, C10/25/2020 FINAL Comment. In July of 2020, I received a message from this company. offering an apology and a promise to ship a new unit to me and three months later, nothing has arrived.Side note. This is an easy DIY project. I took the pump section of a different soap dispenser (the kind with a small bottle for the soap) to the hardware store found the proper diameter and purchased 36" of that plastic tubing. Under the sink, I attached the tubing to the dispenser and put the other end into a gallon of dishwasher soap. It works just fine. Stay Safe, C

Better or not
Sometimes we win sometimes we lose. I bought a similar soap dispenser just a few months ago on the basis that it was all metal rather than silver plated plastic. The good news is that it does look good. The bad news is that I don’t like the way it works. The small reservoir bottle that mounts under the sink only holds enough for about a week’s worth of use in our household and to refill it you either have to crawl under the sink or try to fill it through the hole on the top. I use the word try because it’s nowhere as easy as it sounds. The refill hole is tiny and you don’t know if the bottle is full until soap starts to overflow all over the sink. The mounting par that goes into the hole in the sink is always working loose and sliding all over and the worse thing is that the pump itself is much to small to fit into the hole, so it flops all over, rattles and slips out of your hand while you try to pump soap. I got so tired of the hassle and the lack of backing from the company that I pulled it out and threw it away and started my search for something better.I ran across this one and several others that feature an idea I didn’t see last time. Instead of mounting a tiny bottle under the sink they provide a long hose that you put into one of those huge membership store jugs that will last several months, and you can easily see how much is left without crawling on your back under the sink. The best news is that the pump mounts into the sink with much less wiggle or slipping, which makes using it much easier. Of the many ones listed I chose this one because of the positive ratings, most of which seem real.WHY IS IT BETTER1. It’s solid brass. It looks, feels and operates like something from one of those very high end faucet companies like Moen or Kraus.2. There’s no small bottle hanging under your sink that you have to crawl under to get to or try to pour from the top into a tiny opening. With the Besser you just put a membership store industrial size jug of soap under your sink and drop a lightweight hose into it then replace the jug, oh like a year later.3. Unlike many other models that let the soap drain back into the bottle so you have to pump five or ten times to prime it, this one has a valve to keep the soap level high so usually one or two pumps is all you need. However if you don’t use it for several days it can take numerous pumps to get it started again.INSTALLATIONThis unit has everything you need included except a wrench which isn’t really mandatory. Before you order make sure your sink has a cutout for options such as this. Some sinks have a blank plate covering the unused hole. Here’s a hint - one sink I owned looked like it didn’t have an accessory hole but if you looked under the sink you could see where you could tap out a knockout plug with hammer.Unfortunately with any sink accessory someone has to be selected for the unpleasant duty of laying on their back to mount the device. This one goes in really fast so they will only be down there for a minute or two. Just drop the pump in from the top and tighten the nut on the bottom. Hand tight should be fine but as long as you’re down their using a wrench wouldn’t hurt. Then just drop the included hose through the soap bottle opening and you’re done. You shouldn’t have any coiled up excess hose but if you do you can just snip it off with scissors.QUALITYAs previously mentioned this has a very solid look and feel to it compared to any other I’ve seen. The finish is a soft silvery color that goes well equally with chrome, stainless steel or brushed nickel faucets. It has a finish that does not show fingerprints and water spots and wipes clean easily.YES OR NOThere is no question that this product is at the upper end of the going market price. When I consider how well it’s mare and how well it works, and the fact that I got less than 5 months use out of my previous unit I think all things considered it’s worth it. Once you throw in how much of a hassle the constant wiggling and wobbling the other one had I think this was my best choice and I recommend it.

Great Concept, but failed in under a year
This product replaced the stock one on our sink which had a tiny bottle that was constantly empty and always flooded when being filled. Purchased in August 2019, and installed without a hitch, connected to a large BJ's sized jug of dishwasher soap. Unfortunately, the pump mechanism has failed. It was great while it lasted, but it seems that others have reported the same issue.
