Do not buy this bed. I totally agree with every negative comment I have read about this bed.As with most Amazon products with a lot of reviews the reviews for this bed are all over the place.I am an electrician and I build houses 6 days a week for the past 15 years. As a hubby and daddy I have built tons of furniture. Even a chicken coop from scratch. So I knew I could handle anything required to build this bunk bed.First and most important:There is no quality control on this product. Lots of pieces were poorly finished. Some damaged. Some holes not drilled deep enough. No pilot holes where there really should have been. If I was picky I would have returned this bed before I finished unpacking the 5 boxes.SecondYou need to be very patent and skilled to build this bed. If you are not very skilled with your hands do not buy this bed. This bed is not like building something from Ikea.Third No spare partsUnlike most build it yourself furniture there is not a single extra screw or nut. Two of the trundle bed nuts where miss tapped. Luckily I have a metric tap and die set. If you don't know what a tap and die set it please reread the first sentence of this review.Fourth assembled per directions doesn't feel safe:The mattresses are supported by slats. There are 14 slats per bunk. This is pretty sturdy but the slats are secured to 1"X1" strips held into the sidse by 9 screws per side. It doesn't seem safe enough to hold 200+/- lbs. (mattress plus child, plus sibling because you know they are both going up there sometimes) to make it more secure for the upper bunk I added 1/2" plywood and 12 L brackets.Fifth designIt is truly a bunk bed. The lower bunk is small and the trundle bed will only accommodate a small trundle mattress. But even after 4 hours of assembly with 2 people I love the design. My kids love this bed and the drawers and trundle bed are cool. The design earns the bed 2 stars instead of 1.

The bed is good quality, but not well designed. it is important to not open boxes till you need them but the parts are very diffiuct, definitely needs two people to put together. One safety concern which is troubling is the only thing keeping the top bunk from coming off are wood pegs. There seems to be a place to screw in plates where the bed legs connect but I checked the boxes over an over and nothing was provided. I was surprised because the places are there to do it just no parts to do it. Also where they tagged the pieces with letters, when you peel off the letters, the wood is discolored. For the price I would not expect that. The Trundle is not well done, hard to get under the bed correctly and look good. I have hard wood floors, Just castor wheels on a frame, no slides to guide it in and out. Bad design for the trundle. The directions also says to put the wheels on the outside which did not provide a good fit sliding under the bed so I swapped them to be in the inside of the frame.

I ordered this bunk bed set up with the trundle bed. It was ordered on Sunday night and it showed up on Tuesday of the same week! I started putting it together Tuesday evening. This is made out of real wood (pine). The instructions were really not too hard to follow, but this thing does take some time. I was utilizing a cordless drill with the appropriate bits and my wife was helping the first night and we managed to get the top & bottom bunks together.When sorting out the staircase/drawer panels the next day, I realized that one of the panels was split all the way through. I had a real sinking feeling because of some of the bad reviews left by people that had received damaged parts without any help from the seller? I went ahead and contacted Bedz King by email on Wednesday. To my very pleasant surprise, Kelley with Bedz King contacted me the next morning assuring me that they would immediately ship me another panel. Today is Friday and UPS just left the replacement panel at my door! THANK YOU BEDZ KING!We are also very pleased with the finished product. This is not a super luxurious twin bed set, but for the price point I would say it is hard to beat!

For people looking to see how the bed is (Sturdy? Reliable?), please refer to all the other comments the other buyers have left. I had read them beforehand myself before purchasing the bed and they really do mean what they say and it's true.This comment is intended for people about the AFTERMATH OF DELIVERING THE BED.This company, Bedz King, is not good at "delivery" or "shipping" etiquette, meaning they will make more mistakes than you can ever imagine. For MY bed, they delivered it in TWO colors (a mix up) and there were NOTICEABLE scratches all over the bed. If you want your guests to come into your child's bedroom and have them notice the poor quality the bed was delivered, by all means, purchase this bed from them.I contacted the Bedz King (they knew my e-mail address, location, and cell number) and they let all four of my calls go to voicemail , avoid responding to my e-mail, and proceeded to let this out of hand for as loooong as it can. I purchased this bed on JAN 2, 2014 and I still have not received an answer and today's date it JAN, 21, 2014. Luckily I told them I would deal with their poor customer service with the BBB and sent them a nasty e-mail of how I was going to let all their future buyers know about their POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.Overall, the bed itself is made/shipped from Brazil so the wood and everything is in top quality condition. It does not rock when you go up the stairway. The person on the bottom bunk cannot hear the top person move during the night.This is a good bed but customer service is HORRIBLE. Beyond horrible.
