Went to visit my mom and one of her cats ate my shoe string in half. Ordered this to replace the one on my Timberland Pro work boot and it stayed tight longer than the original lace on my other boot. So I switched the other one out too. There thicker and just work very well. Love em.

Not tough. A few months on my hiking shoes (which I use maybe once a week) and they’re already unraveling and tearing where the lace threads through the eyeholes.Could tell as soon as I installed them that the material was much more plush than typical boot laces, and it shows.

I like how thick these laces are but when it comes to being heavy duty? They are not. These are regular sized laces with a thick fabric around them and that's where the problem lies. I use these in my work boots with the metal hooks and I've been through several of these laces now because they wear down quite fast. The black fabric on the outside rubs against the hooks on my boots and breaks, rendering them unusable. For a product that's advertised as heavy duty, this shouldn't be happening. At least not at the frequency that I'm having to replace them.
